Same here. I just received a email telling my picture #1559101 has been added, but if I look for latest aditions, first of all is #1559031

Hello Stil, I just used the Advanced Search (https://www.airliners.net/advsearch/) and via Latest Addition First I see photoID # 1559101 as the first listed return. Would you please try again?

Sorry for not replying this thread in a while, I've been rather busy fixing some the bigger open issues we have had.

Quoting Chukcha (Reply 90):
There is this long standing issue related to the "Choose Your Great Photos"

it's on the list, thanks for your bug report.

Quoting OffshoreAir (Reply 96):
When I use Safari on my Macbook to try to access the forums on here, I get this error:

on the list, sorry for the inconvenience. As others suggested, you may try clearing cookies for airliners.net and logging back in.

Quoting StasisLAX (Reply 98):
Having trouble editing my posts.

on the list, as a workaround you can remove the acronym tags.

Quoting VirginFlyer (Reply 93):
the flag of New Zealand as used in the forum post headings here is incorrect

Maybe one day when I am bored  Wink

Quoting UnattendedBag (Reply 101):
when I click a China Airlines link, I get:
China Airlines checkmark
and
China Airlines Cargo
China Southern Airlines
China Southern Airlines Cargo
China Eastern Airlines
China Cargo Airlines
China Xinhua Airlines
China Postal Airlines
China United Airlines

Thank you. This is an issue we are aware of and are discussing the best way to resolve it.

Quoting BJS43 (Reply 112):
Another thing that bugs me and I've not particularly noticed it before is when you select a menu off the home page and the drop down menu appears - it disappears before you can select the sub-menu off it. Sometimes several try before you get there.

...

Quoting BJS43 (Reply 136):
Also on mouseover, the menus have a habit of disappearing just as about to select. I have a perfectly standard set up of Vista and IE ... no truoble on other sites.

I believe Paul indicated that this should be fixed.

Quoting BJS43 (Reply 113):
As for sorting by dates - forget it !

added to the list.

Quoting UnattendedBag (Reply 114):
I cannot delete photos in my photo album.

This was fixed recently, let me know if you still have problems.

Quoting BRJ (Reply 116):
Has there been any correction to the photo tracker yet? I am still getting "no new photos have been added since your last visit 135 days ago." I really count on that feature to show me the latest photos!

It's working for me. You might want to try the reset link: https://www.airliners.net/view_new_photos.main?reset=yes&nrs=1559244 or clear your cookies and sign up again.

Quoting FYODOR (Reply 118):
Can't open Rejection Guide page.

I noticed there was an encoding problem with microsoft characters when the guide was updated. Maybe that was the problem? But I can't reproduce in IE7 or 8, are you still having a problem?

Quoting Luftfahrer (Reply 122):
I'm successfully uploading pictures from a web URL via 'Add Images'.

Sorry about the image posting. We had an issue where the server configuration was wrong on some new hardware, which is why it seemed to be an intermittent issue.

Quoting INNflight (Reply 131):
Everytime I want to send a PM to someone I get "Error: No such username/password combination" and the screen gets white...

I noticed you said it was working for you now. We did have an issue where certain special characters in a user's password would cause some actions to fail.

Quoting Jasond (Reply 142):
Watermarks show on photos for first class members, my understanding that this should not happen. Example ID: 1154437

You are correct, I will look into this.

Quoting Flyingbronco05 (Reply 143):
Top photos of the last 24 hours do not work as of 1315UTC time on 28July09

There was a problem with the search application last night. Looking into why it wasn't resolved by the monitoring team faster.

As a follow up to my earlier comment, have you noticed this issue on any other photos? I checked some recent photos and didn't see any problem, this one seems to have the watermarked flag turned off in the database somehow, and I'll get it switched with the next release, but if there are others with the same issue it means it's probably part of a larger bug that I would like to fix.

I don't know if it is only me, but the "1 unread, jump to last" doesn't work for me in no thread in civ- av... I cleared cookies, but didn't help. Happens on 3 different browsers, but only on Windows Vista on my desktop, on my netbook using Windows XP it works fine.

Thanks to Scottjungwirth, DC10 and Wilco737 for looking into these bugs. Sorry I was shouting at one stage but felt not being listened to.

On the subject of photo searches, do we have a wish list? I have never understood why this site does not have a separate field for the photo date rather than it part of general remarks. An ability to sort a particular frame by date of photo would give a history of an aircraft through different operators and colour schemes in logical date order rather tha n the jumble we get now.

Wondered if it is possible to strip out the dates into a separate field as part of improving the search functions in general?

When you click a user ID to retrieve the person's profile, a new window opens with the profile. The title bar at the top of the window reads "Photographer Profile". However, many A.net members are not photographers but use the site for other things, mainly the forums.

Suggest change that heading to "Member Profile" to be more inclusive.

Hello Aircellist and Braniff747SP, we did do a fix on this recently though it appears that some users, such as yourselves, are still experiencing problems. Please let us know which browsers you are using.

Our developers are aware of this and are monitoring the function as noted in the thread on that specific bug, linked below.

Sometimes when I click on either a topic or to change forum, only the top toolbar and main Airliners.Net banner appears with the blue background, making me have to refresh the page (sometimes more than once) to get to the page I initially wanted to get to. Is it time to switch to IE8 - would it be any better than using IE7? I have deleted cookies etc and it still occurs.
It's all about the destination AND the journey.

Yes I too have been experiencing this over the past week but it seems to have got worse.

The pages keep failing to load. For example a few days ago it was a minor inconvenience but yesterday and today its happening very frequently. At the bottom of the browser it says "waiting for tag.contextweb.com" and you have to refresh about 3 times to get the page to load.

I am using the latest Firefox web browser.

In addition to the reported problem of the front page not updating whatsoever and the view counters being stuck on photos, view counters are also stuck on forum threads with new threads stuck at 0, and often I am having the same problem as SpeedBirdA380.

This is not a solution, but a more detailed look at the problem. It is being caused by the album name filter the system is inserting into the URL.

The thumbnails & album suggestions that appear beneath photos have URLs with several filters that seem to be causing the problem. Using your example above, the URL that doesn't work is (appears truncated below):

https://www.airliners.net/search/phot..._creator=Jorge1812&disp_order=desc

But when you look in your own profile for that album, the URL that does work is simply:

https://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?album=7953

Breaking it down further, the thumbnail/URL has 5 additional filters added on. The one shown in yellow appears to be the one causing the problem.

  • &thumbnails=noinfo

  • &page_limit=120

  • &album_name=Georg+Noack%2FJorge1812+On+Tour+-+A+Selection

  • &album_creator=Jorge1812

  • &disp_order=desc

  • These work:

    https://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?album=7953

    https://www.airliners.net/search/phot...earch?album=7953&thumbnails=noinfo

    https://www.airliners.net/search/phot...3&thumbnails=noinfo&page_limit=120

    These do not work:

    https://www.airliners.net/search/phot...%2FJorge1812+On+Tour+-+A+Selection

    https://www.airliners.net/search/phot...+Selection&album_creator=Jorge1812

    https://www.airliners.net/search/phot..._creator=Jorge1812&disp_order=desc
    Blank.

Not a major item here but the little indicator next to a members name in a thread that is supposed to turn green when a member is on-site does not work for me. I know I could click on the "xxx" users on line" and get the complete list but the green indicator is much easier as it is a quick visual check

    Thanks again

Is there a problem with the photo search tool? I have just been trying to retrieve various photos using usual entries on the main photo search screen (aircaft type, airline, and/or key words, e.g. serial numbers/line numbers), and every search query generates the response "There were no photos in the database matching your query".

There seems to be some general problem as I doubt it would affect only me and I've never had this problem in the past.

Yes, the search is broken. I bookmark the usual search link to search for my photos and keep an eye on hits, but today it didn't work. Appears to be a general problem.

Um, is the appeal function working right now? I have had a photo in the appeal queue for over 5 days now. It has never taken that long...just wondering if I missed something and appeals are INOP, or if the Head Screeners are "out to lunch"...?

Not a complaint. Just curious if I'm waiting for something that wont be coming any time soon due to bugs or whatever.

Talking of airport (and airline) codes - Is there a way to suppress the auto acronym tag generation?

For example, I simply want to be able to type the registration of Air India's latest 77L ( VT-ALH ) without the system cleverly assuming I am trying to talk about flying on Air Tahiti to Albany, Western Australia.

Are there any html tags that I can put around VT-ALH to suppress automatic acronym expansion?

When I am on the frontpage, I like to use the link: "Top of last 24 hours" https://www.airliners.net/search/phot...aterange=day&sort_order=views+desc

Now I am on the list of top of 24 hours and I'd like to see not only 15, I like to see 120 pictures per page. So I click on the right side on the "Photos & Info - 120/ page".

Here now comes the problem. On the left side it says: "Latest additions first". So now I see 120 pictures per page with the latest additions. So now I have to click on the left side again on the "most popular" to get to the most popular of the last 24 hours.

Couldn't it be just "most popular" on the left and "Photos & Info - 15/page" on the right as standard? I mean, I was using the linke "top of last 24 hours" and not the "latest additions"?

    Thanks

RE: Report The Bugs Here - Part 4

There's a little issue with the count of the number of photos I have in the database. The photo upload page and photo statistics page correctly state that I have 1,979. The photo search result for my name, Peter de Jong, gives 1,980.

The cause of this is that I had one acccepted photo purged from the database last winter because I thought it was unworthy. The photo was of a Danish Air Force T-33. The following link shows that I have only one photo of a Danish Air Force aircraft, but that the count says two.

    https://www.airliners.net/search/phot...otographersearch=Peter%20De%20Jong

Similarly, photo search results says I have 1,980 photos, but one thumbnails page shows 14 photos, not 15.

As I'm approaching my 2,000th photo, I would appreciate if this could be fixed.

    Thanks

Thank you for posting this Peter, we will look into this for you over the coming days. We look forward to your 2000th photo.

[edit] Peter your link returns a Danish Air Force Saab T-17 Supporter and it does indeed show 1 of 2. When I do a search for the T-33 I receive 8 returns, none of them are of the Danish Air Force T-33 but it too shows 8 results of 9. Did you do something similar with the T-17 too?

    Regards

    Paul

The link I provided searches for my Danish Air Force photos, not for T-17s. It finds the T-17 and the purged T-33 which is not actually there.

Indeed I have 8 photos of T-33As, and the count says 9.

Similarly I have 20 photos from the location: Off-Airport - Savigny-les-Beaune, and the count says 21.

    Hope that helps

I'd wish to report a very noticeable issue that has been a bit of a nuisance lately. Every 5 to 10 or 15 minutes or so, pages don't load, or the only thing that loads is the blue background. This occurs regardless of what page I am browsing on A.net whether it is a photo or the homepage or the forum, and this "technical hiccup" I shall call it lasts about 15-30 seconds each time.

Still have blurry thumbnails. Any idea when this will be fixed for the 3rd time?

Can you provide us with an example of a thumbnail which isn't displaying correctly?
