A pop up adverb appears in the middle of the screen on the iPad so that you can't read any posts on a forum. Non !!!
And the pop up ad doesn't go away. There's a X in the upper right hand corner that doesn't work. The pop up fills the entire screen.
The forum on the iPad has become useless.

I agree if you use an IPAD, this site is useless because of the pop up ads! There is no rhyme or reason to the pop ups either and you end up clicking on one because you are not fast enough to select the topic on the forum.

When I search for all photos within a US State, I get the same number of photos as when I search for Other airports in this state.

For Example, when I search "USA - Alaska" I get (as of this moment) 8,837 photos.
When I search "Other airports in USA - Alaska" I get the same number of 8,837.

Shouldn't this 2nd search result in only airports not already listed in the drop down, and therefore be a lower number of photos? This issue seems to be occuring with other States as well. Is this normal or an error? Thank you for looking into this matter.

Is there a problem with the screening emails? I've not had a problem with receiving them for a few years but I'm not getting them as of Monday?

Thanks,

Yes, there is a bug with the emails in general. Deletions from the forum take place, but no emails are being sent out to the users.

Developers have been informed and are working on it.

Thanks.

Hi Wilco737

Is there any news from the developers as to when this "bug" might be fixed ?

This has been an issue now for a very long time, and has affected numerous posters.

I have deletions from several different threads, for reason unknown, and not one notification.

Makes it terribly difficult to participate.

Hi TheCommodore,

We got word from the developers that the e-mail issue should be fixed sometime tomorrow. It's been a weird couple of days, but everything should be back soon.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Just asking cause, Ive been having this problem now for many many months, not just the last past days ?

Go to where cookies are stored and delete the Airliners.net cookie.. there may be two. I have safari 6.1.5 and this works for me.. yes you will lose your history on threads you've read, but just open them and close them, then open again and go to the end..

I don't understand cookies, however it appears that there is a limit on how much of our browsing they can keep and instead of deleting or superseding , this one gets warped.

My workaround is to drop the s when first writing the post, then editing the preview and reinserting the s twice in the HTML tags. Not so elegant...

It could be that the difficulties I encounter with the site may be related to Safari since I now using an old version of Opera and so far it seems to be working well.

I have the issue with searching the forums as well. It is not bringing up any of my additions to the forum, for example, posts with 'VapourTrails' in Non-Aviation in 2014, only the ones from 2001 to 2004.    Not that it really bothers me all that much, but it is still a bug that needs to be rectified?

Search engine didn't work well. Any link: 24 hours, photographer, type - shows: There were no photos in the database matching your query. Works proprly in 1 from 10 tries.

The photo database seems to be playing up. I tried to search for Jet2. Initially searched for Boeing-737-800, but then when this said no results, I cut back to just the airline, which still said no results. I changed the airline to Jet2Holidays, still no results at all were found. I'm guessing this is the case for any airline I try?

Great if you can have a look at this. Thank you.

These pop-ups need to stop. If this isn't corrected shortly I will once again cancel my membership and stop visiting airliners.net.

Now I get in addition to Nutrisystem something called Media Downloader. When it pops up it totally jams up Chrome and I have no option but to force quit Chrome and reopen my session.

What is being done to address these issues? The previous thread on this subject is locked.

I write out messages, click preview the post, and some of the text is gone. Sometimes it doesn't happen (or at least I don't notice) until the message is posted. This happens frequently, but not always.

I haven't found a good way to stop the popups entirely, but it is possible to avoid the actual advertisement (and thus avoid whatever dubious content it may contain) by adding svr123.com as an alias for 127.0.0.1 in your /etc/hosts file (not sure what the equivalent is for windows). Add it after "localhost" of course. I'm sure that there is a good browser-based way to suppress them completely, but I can't be bothered -- I'll just go elsewhere.

I hope that DM soon realizes that the outrage factor is much higher than the puny amount of revenue these pop-unders might bring in. I've already cut my airliners.net viewing by at least half, and if this keeps up, I'll probably just give up on the site entirely. It's not like there are no alternatives.
