I suspect it's the same issue that's causing posts to vanish into thin air today. I posted on a topic, it shows up in my starred threads, I've gotten no deletion notice, and well over half the posts in the (completely uncontroversial) thread are missing.

Try clicking "Check For New Replies" down at the bottom. I had to do that just now to see the three newest posts in this very thread (including my own previous post).

It's happened before....

I've noticed numerous times today (January 3) that when clicking on a thread title in the forum index, the thread doesn't open and the resulting page says "No such topic or topic deleted". Then when I click on the same thread a 2nd or 3rd time it opens normally. Haven't noticed that problem before.

There are issues in the Photographer's Corner section.

When clicking on Upload Queue, this section doesn't show the actual number of photos in the queue, however it alternates between showing the full list of queued photos and then only a partial list. Same for Upload Queue Statistics.

For two photos of mine that were accepted & entered into the database yesterday, the view count number sometimes doesn't show the updated view count. It alternates between showing something like 8 or 9 views as if they were just included in the database, and then suddenly changes back to the updated & more realistic number. And then this repeats.

I had an appeal that was unsuccessful, and the rejected photo doesn't appear in the Rejected Photos list.

However at the moment the emails from Airliners.net are fine and coming normally (screening results, successful upload, appeal results, etc.).

Thanks.

Getting the "no such topic exists" message.

Thought it was something to do with the browser but it's on all browsers actually, whether you're signed in or not.

It's baaaack - the old blue screen of death:

"No such topic or topic deleted."

Of the OAG thread?

I tried clearing cache, and was able to get into one thread - the A350 thread - but when I went to the link to the new thread at the bottom, created by the moderator Llightsaber, I got the blue screen of death.

So I restarted my machine, was able to get into the OAG thread (but not some others) and ten minutes later I couldn't get into OAG again.

Hi All

The databases are fully synced again, so most problems should be resolved as the developers are back in the office and working on these issues as we speak. They have pinpointed the problem and released a fix so hopefully everything will index back to normal. We regret the inconvenience this has caused you.

Thanks and regards

Okay, so my First Class membership expired a while ago, and I can't find any way to renew it.

I sent an email to the mods saying I want to give a.net money., but how? I got a nice reply saying they are aware of the problem that the system was being revised shortly and all would be well.

Now I keep getting occasional messages to upgrade to First Class - "Click here for more info!" - which obviously I'm ready to do, but I still can't find any way to make the upgrade. When I click on the link, I just get some stuff about me with no place to make a payment.

Am I being impatient, or stupid, or what?

In the "Links to your photos on Airliners.net" section, links are meant to be removed after 30 days. My links are still showing back to June 2015. Also for a time in Jun/Jul 2015 I was receiving hundreds of links per day and these are all still showing, normally I might just get a couple of links per day on average.

If this is happening across the site would this be slowing things down?

Cheers

Did you recently erase/reset your cookies and Internet files?

I believe the "thread unread" feature is cookie based, so a reset of your cookies may tell the website that you haven't read any of the posts.

Solved my problem - it was the use of the word c-u-r-l (no hyphens) in the text. No doubt related to the internet function of the same name that can be used for nefarious purposes.

Well, I'm nitpicking... it's not a "Internet function", it's a Unix tool to download something from the internet. I use the similar w-g-e-t to automatically download webcam images to create a picture series.

But... who in the world is executing A.nut postings on his computer?

Possibly malvertising. Web hosters have next to no control over what is delivered through the ad channels they're selling.

I think, all kinds of web ads should be hosted on the server (a.nut) itself, in the form of a jpg or a gif image. All other forms of advertising should be punished by crushing the people responsible.
