People Reversing Their Ages In Profile

Sat Oct 03, 2015 6:52 am

Some of us are not sharing real info in profile from the start, but I have noticed some roll back their ages from 50s to 20-30s age group, its not an issue but am still thinking why do such an undignified thing, what do their friends on here think? wont name anyone but atleast two members have done it.

Many many do it. Same with their location. Some users here want to stay somewhat Anonymously... So they change their age and their location, you are not online with your real name either.
It is no rule to have all information 100% correct...

Yes, how is Greenland treating you?

Personally I think you should be able to hide your identity on-line on sites like this.
However personally, in any private message I use my real name....as I have very little to hide.

Some are obvious, as to the time they have been on here, and their age upon joining would have been single figures! I think people just forget to update it, or they don't consider it important. When I update mine, it will be in the age range covering the next decade, and I feel I could leave it a year or two... because the site is supposed to be anonymous with screen names, people could easily be mistaken for who or who they aren't and age ranges etc. I guess it just goes with the territory. It is kind of nice that it isn't TOO formal on here.

When I was younger I boosted my profile age because people just looked at me like a young punk. Whether or not people like it, age does not always equal knowledge. There are some members who are 18 or 19 on here that could school some people, and some at 50 who think they know it all, but really don't. But many like to act like the 18 year olds opinion or even facts aren't valid because they are 18. It's one thing I find incredibly silly.

Guess is most want to stay discrete on a public forum, esp professionals from the Industry.
I may not win often, but I damn well never lose!!! ;)
