* Compression of pages: way too much wasted space, not compact enough. Given the prolific number of topics in the Civil Av forum alone, it'll take days to wade through just cursory topics. And not having a STAR to indicate favorited or posted on threads stinks. The new format becomes an innate time eater.
* Username prominence: probably should be a little bigger or more readable. User name was such a strong feature and I think characteristic of A.net so I hate seeing this look like every other damn generic forum on the internet.

Gone at the moment. I've added it to the to-do/wishlist.
Regarding the blue color; I mentioned earlier that it's on the wishlist. I'm confident they can add more blue and with that also increase readability. So please bear with me for that.

The developers are aware of this and a fix is in the pipelines.

I don't see anything on Chrome.

I'm not getting them....

altbg wrote:I'm definitely not a fan of the new format. I really liked the condensed format of the forums and the photos before. I could easily read more than 5 responses on a forum thread without having to scroll, now I get two, maybe even three and that's it. Same with the photos, one photo per "page" whereas before I could see 5 or 6. There is also way too much wasted space on the new site in general.

Agreed! There is (was) something very nice and special about that "A.net blue" and being able to choose it. I hope they add that choice back (they appear to be making changes and updates on the fly currently which if that is happening that is most definitely a big improvement).
And your comment about the Username prominence, I honestly think they should "flip" the thread title header style with the Username. I.e. make the Username the size and font currently used for the thread title in a members reply and put the thread title below in small lettering (as I said before:
Do we really need the thread title in big letters atop every reply through the thread?
And lastly I really miss the "collapse reply" and "skip to the last read" feature. Especially on mobile it is a huge benefit.

Old links doesn't work anymore - what a great stupid idea!![]()

https://www.airliners.net/myphotos/
https://www.airliners.net/myphotos/queue.main?
https://www.airliners.net/addphotos/add.main
None of these work anymore, but the worst is that the photos' old URL (ID only) is gone too. Only the later format is still working. I've got a spreadsheet with all my online photos at different sites. A simple formula concatenates URL with the ID. Now it doesn't work and there's no way to reach a photo by its ID.
But that's far from being the worst thing. Where are the watermarks, the footer?????![]()
![]()
![]()
If it was easy before to steal an image, now it's gonna be even easier!
I added a watermark when I uploaded it, if it was my intention to remove it, I would have done so.
And, when trying to add the watermark again, the tool does not work!!![]()
Also, different crops and image sizes are easily available publicy on the internet using a simple URL trick:
https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/8/1/4/2244418-0-10.jpg
Underline: the last three numbers of the ID show the correct folder path
Bold: change this from 10 to 19 to get different sizes
What does it means?
A simple bash script can easily download ALL JPEGs from airliners.net photos, in different sizes, without any watermark or author info, as airliners.net strips all EXIF info.
I'm seriously considering if there are any advantages keeping my photos here due to the now non-existent copyright protection.
