To be fair it also happened to me on the old site, but it was much less frequent. Like maybe once a week or so.

I raised this on an earlier thread relating to the new site. Logins do not persist on the same device or across multiple devices. It is a pain.

The response I got was that they are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution.

Tery going into your cookies and deleting them, or at least anything related to airliners.net. Be sure to restart your browser after doing that, and see if it helps. I still get thrown off occasionally, but nowhere near as often as I was.

I'm having the same problem with the new site.

Very annoying, since when I log in it takes me back to the main page. Then I don't bother posting.

I feel like posts are down overall anyway.

Every time I leave the site, I am logged off. I tried everything suggested above but no luck. Getting quite tired of it now.

I too am having this same problem, to be honest I'm finding the whole interface very hard to use at the minute and frankly cheap looking, it's really not very slick at all like the likes of a xenforo based forum etc or even vbullitin frankly it feels like forums of the 90s to early 2000s

They've known about this issue since the day the new site launched. They've been asked about it on a daily basis since. As with everything, the only thing we're being told is 'it's on the list of things to be fixed'. In reality, things are only added to that list, and none of them appear to ever actually BE fixed. I'm beginning to wonder if the 'team' of developers that are supposedly working on fixin this site aren't in reality just one guy who works on the site for about ten minutes per day (in between his other jobs) eight of which are spent reading and replying to the volunteers' mails about the problems, telling them how to stall the pesky 'users' with their complaints while nothing is being done.

If members not staying logged in is one of your 'top priorities' to fix (words of the crew) and after three WEEKS nothing has been done about it, that means the developers aren't exactly putting many hours in...

So when will the issue be fixed then? It has been indicated on a daily basis by many users that this is probably the most annoying bug on the site.

To reply to this, I have once again needed to log in, get redirected to the homepage, go back to the forums and find this thread again.

They are definitely putting hours in, despite what you may believe.

If they've been putting in so many hours with so little noticeable result, what does that say about the maturity and quality of the site when it was launched?

It's been a few weeks since the new site has been launched. From the moment it was launched NOTHING has been improved. There's a whole list of issues that could have been fixed during those few weeks, but that weren't fixed.

So if those developers are putting in so many hours, what have they been doing all that time? Obviously they haven't been working on the site, otherwise we would have seen improvement. But everything is still the way it was the day it was launched, nothing was changed.

I remember a post somewhere (can't find it anymore) that in the next following weeks we would certainly see improvements. Those next following weeks have passed, where are the improvements? Not here!

The login/logout issue seems to be much better today!

It is. Today is the second day in a row that I was still logged in when returning to my MacBook. So that issue seems to be solved now.

Nope. Not working at all on Chrome. I last visited a couple of hours ago and just had to log in again now, and yes the 'remember me' gets checked each time.

I am using Safari, that might explain the different experiences we are having at present with the renewed site?

It's not fixed for me. I'm using Safari and it doesn't keep me logged in for more than a few hours. (My site visits are WAY down, so I don't know the exact timeout I'm getting.)

First time today I've come back to the site and I've still been logged in from last session. Fingers crossed the issue might finally be fixed? ? ?? ?

am using Safari and have managed to stay logged in for four days straight..

using chrome v51 on windows 10 machine and can't stay logged-in. almost every time i visit i have to log-in...VERY ANNOYING!!!!

Am on Chrome 51 with W8.1 here and have remained logged in all day thus far.

i'm gonna try deleting all my cookies/cache and see if that works. ugh!

Opening site through main page sometimes keeps me logged and sometimes not. Opening links to forums always makes me logged out.

Kas, concerning developers spending time on site repair, and as many times pointed that nothing changes (almost nothing to be honest, some thing were mended if not totally and to acceptable level) at front end, means that majority of work goes to backend bugs and makes me think that site is broken much more than was announced (i.e. "transition of DB was smooth").

Ah, this might have something to do with it. My browser bookmark button is a direct link to the general aviation forum, not the front page, and I'm almost always logged out when I open that link.

I've been logged in for the last three or four days. Always went straight to the forums, never visited the main page in that time. Using Firefox 47.

Whereas I can't stay logged in even for 2 hours, direct forum link, Safari / OSX 10.11.5. "cookies and website data" is set to Allow from websites that I visit, in case that's relevant. It really is bloody annoying.

this seems to be the case here too. if i visit the main page first, i tend to stay logged in.

I am now logged in for more than a week! For me that issue surely is solved. Hope for others, who might not be using Safari, the problem is solved now too.

Still not working for me. If I navigate away and come back a bit later I have to log in again. My URL bookmark is directly to the civ av forum as I have no interest in being spoon fed the daily "top pic" on the homepage just to boost that photographer's views. In fact the cynic in me makes me think that the log-in redirects to the homepage are done deliberately for that reason.

I don't believe a view is counted unless one opens the large version of a photo... or has that also changed with the new site?

I just logged in at a friends house in Germany over the wifi. And I was still logged in. Sorry that you still experience the problems but to me that issue is solved for more than a week now.
