Selective Quoting

Wed May 02, 2018 6:29 pm

Before the site went through some upgrades, we were able to selectively quote text in previous posts, why was that taken away? It made things so much easier to be able to highlight and click quote instead of having to figure out all of the HTML coding. Any way to restore that?

No. There's nothing to restore. The old site is dead and gone. This site is 100% new. There are two ways to quote someone, either by clicking on the upper right of the post you want to quote, or by scrolling down on the Full Editor and Preview Page (as opposed to Quick Reply), and clicking multiple posts to quote. If you only want to respond to certain sections of a post, you'll just have to delete the extraneous text. There's no other method. It's not as easy as the old site, but unfortunately there's nothing we can do about that.

Another way to multiquote without having to find the post in the preview is to right click the quote button and open in a new tab for every post you want to quote. Then you can easily copy paste into the reply when you are ready to post. Not as handy as the old fuction, Just a small tip :)
