What is with the Airliners.net Wikipedia page?!

Sat Mar 09, 2019 11:21 pm

Hello all,

Recently, someone has added a huge chunk about "Allegations of Intolerance" within A.net. The paragraphs are rather rambling and redundant, citing individual users in what could be considered a breach of privacy (not outright, but in the citations). While it is true that some controversy and insensitive comments have been made as late, there are some statements that are outright opinions and not facts at all. Could someone go through and make a concise, factual paragraph out of it? Thanks.

Rather than try to make sense out of that nonsense, I went ahead and removed it (I think?). I've never edited anything on Wikipedia before, but it appears to be gone. Clearly someone disgruntled with the website decided to waste their time on a Wikipedia article. That seems like a pretty childish way to address one's grievances. In any case, thank you for alerting us to this!

Pretty easy to see who made the edits in question on wiki.
Linking it to an a.net forum user account is slightly trickier from this side of the database but one very much stands out as a prime candidate within seconds of looking. It'd probably be easily confirmed by an admin/mod with access to the user profile.
