Fact vs Opinion guidence

Thu Apr 25, 2019 11:28 am

In the US education system from pre-school level kids are taught to identify fact and opinions by reading the text. It appears this is not standard practice throughout the world.

Would it possible for a.net crew to post some guidelines on identifying fact and opinion, so members stop asking evidence for opinions?

I think there is a general understanding between fact and opinion. When I see someone asking for evidence of an opinion I take it that person would like to see some backup on how you formed that opinion. Are you just making it up? Did you see some stats somewhere? Are you putting A-B-C together some way. I like to see what the opinion is based on and after looking at that my opinion may change. Or not.
