Why does this photo have so many views?

Sat Oct 19, 2019 3:32 am

Ok, this is probably the dumbest post of the year on here, but I am curious as to why this photo has 89K views. Is there something special about it that I am missing lol? (Also, don't get me wrong, it's a nice photo, but I don't see anything special about it--and am just wondering if there is a fluke or if this plane has some sort of significance or something)

Could have been linked to on a news article. It’s also been on here for nearly 20 years so views tend to accumulate from bots and search engines.

I hadn't even thought about that. Makes perfect sense though. Alright, well that probably answers that question!

All the views are from Doug Parker wistfully remembering simpler times.

That HP livery is one of my all time favorites.

If only, if only.

Maybe people clicked on it because it reminds them of a time we had multiple airlines with interesting paintjobs, rather than an armada of blue on white cheapies, or garish "Look, ma, I drew da flag!" attempts.

I think it's a nice question. The short answer is probably nostalgy combined with being an old pic.

To answer your question, it's the photo that was used to illustrate the Airbus A320 in the Aircraft Data and History section of the site.
