What's the point of moving established threads into consolidated threads?

Sun Jan 03, 2021 6:22 am

I was trying to look for some threads from a few weeks ago (specifically AA FLL expansion, CLT-HNL, etc.) and I noticed they were all moved into the AA Network Thread - 2020.

Additionally, I recall the United adds SFO-BLR, ORD-DEL, etc. thread was moved into the United Network/Fleet/Repaint Thread a while back.

What exactly is the point of doing this? When you move a thread with dozens or even hundreds of posts into another active thread, all of the posts become out of order and at times it's quite confusing to read.

Hoping to get an answer, it looks like it's happening again.

Alaska announces BOI-AUS, SEA-RDD/IDA, Delta's Austin/Raleigh Focus City announcement, Southwest EUG/BLI/MYR and other threads have been consolidated into their respective network threads. Why exactly?

Short: someone decided that would be better. I don’t get it either.

Please send an email to moderators@airliners.net so it can be brought to the attention of the entire moderating team. I agree that it's something we need to discuss, but issues like this aren't generally brought to all of our attention when it's posted in Site Related. An email guarantees that we all see it. So, please shoot us an email, be patient, and we'll get back to you after we have some discussion. Things like this are issues that we want to sort out just as much as you, if for nothing else than to bring some clarity.
