1. Clearly airliners.net does it far more than most. And like I tell my kids, just because someone else misbehaves doesn't make it OK.

The forum admins don't have any control over website advertising. That's on the web dev team, and they don't seem super inclined to change anythting. And nearly every website has ad trackers. It's how they make money.

Pretty much the only way to prevent that stuff is to have ad/tracker blocking on your browser, or use something like the Brave browser that has the blocking stuff built in.

It’s even higher than the web development team.

Sorry, I know it's not the forum admins - I meant the site admins.

Ads are okay. Having the ads be intrusive, rude, or introduce malware is not. It's also a quantitative thing - this site has demonstrably far more than its peers. This is not okay and I don't know why people are suggesting that it is something we should just accept.

Trackers aren't malware. Some trackers can be, sure, but not all of them.
