OK, if I were you I'd look at the total range of the aircrafts in question. Then look at the total amout of fuel the aircraft can carry.
Then I think you divide the total fuel among the total range. Then you take the GPM (Gallons per nautical mile) and multiply it by the current cost aircraft fuel.
And then you have altitude considerations and the average speed of the aircraft, and also the total flight time between point A to point B, and it's whole one big mess of an equation.

The US DOT publishes the operating costs of US carriers; otherwise you can always contact the manufacturer.

Hey Aloha! Still doing it, getting lots of support from the politicians (who know a good thing when they see it) but interest from the guys with the big bucks is somewhat more restrained - mainly due to the recession. Target start date Feb 2003: we've missed the slot for next year and we have to start prior to the peak season to get over that first hump!
