Is Afghanistan Airspace Still Open To Intl Flights

Thu Sep 20, 2001 10:11 am

What's the current status on Afghanistan airspace? Many flights overfly it on Europe-SE Asia routes -- or at least they normally do.

I know even before 11 September, the Taliban threatened to close off their airspace to international flights unless sanctions were dropped allowing Ariana to fly internationally.
