4-engined turboprops have all but vanished from the commercial aviation scene. Have any of you ever flown on one? Here is my list, with the number of times I have flown on each:
Lockheed L-188 Electra (33 times)
Vickers Viscount (9 times)
Vickers Vanguard (2 times)
DHC Dash 7 (2 times)
The Electra and Vanguard were extremely powerful on takeoff. And the Dash 7 has an unbelievably short takeoff roll. The Viscount's distinguishing feature was its extremely large oval cabin windows. The bottom of them was at the level of my knees when I was seated.
