Personally I don´t like any of the suggested colours but I agree with Air Orange that the present livery is boring with its old-fashioned all white fuselage. I think Qantas should change to something very different - maybe even get rid of the kangaroo or at least change the shape of it. I am aware that national (and customer) feelings often mean a lot when airlines change their colours (like BA´s tail show) but Qantas really need something new and different.

Leej I Agree But....
I fully agree with you Leej but it will cost a lot of money to paint and to maintain them all like that. I do not think that would be wise.

I LOVE the silver one, though the third one would be nice to see as well.
QANTAS is a little boring with their current cheme I think. You know I'd really like to see some BLUE in their livery.

Take the silver variant, and make the silver white. But keep everything else like it is in the second one. Le'ts see what that looks like, migth be very nice.

I guess that with blue, it would rather look like Virgin Blue. I like the present livery, but if i had to choose from the othr two, I'm staying with the last one.

I saw a great one the other day. It was a concept for the A380 (only I cant remember which site it was).
Anyway, the fuselage was a deep earthy orange at the front and it slowly faded into the qantas red at the tail with the white kangaroo. It looked awesome!

The only thing I would change on the Qantas livery is make the word Qantas alittle bigger (like what is on the second and third photos of Aloha737-200's post)

Qantas needs a new livery, in my humble opinion! It doesn't have to be costly by keeping it simple and effective (ie. the current livery for BA [the tails] is an example of what I mean). Designs can be overdone on aircraft, and it just looks yuk. Out of the three pictures above I like the current one! Some blue would be nice, the middle one is OK, but not with the silver! 
Fading orange across the fuselage with a desert sand kind of image in mind, with some blue depicting the sky... Anyway I hope we see something nice from QF sooner rather than later!

Well, I do think that the current livery is a bit watered down, but I think if qantas were to choose a new color scheme, the bare metal would look great. As for the blue highlights? YUCK! 
the 2nd one almost reminds me of the TWA twin globe scheme as well as bell bottoms and disco. Keep it modern!

I think Qantas current livery is just great it looks fine to me and dont see any need to change it the only thing i would change is on the wingtips add the stars of the second variation thats it

I remember when Norbert and I were trying to design these new Qantas schemes. I wish I had time to do them still but I don't... well atleast not now a days. Norbert had a few more Qantas schemes, and so did I. Here were my original 4 fantasy schemes. I know they are different looking, but at the time that's what people wanted to see, something drastically different. I can see things havn't changed much here. I think funny that if it's too different people hate it, and if the fusulage is too white or conservative, it's boring and unimaginative. Oh well, go figure huhh. Anyway, here is the link, Enjoy.

Out of those, I prefer the current one.
Whenever I see the white kangaroo at the airport or in the sky backed by the red, I always think Qantas - its easy to recognise and simple

Qantas should keep the one they have now.
And take a look at the other airline liveries.I saw the Alitalia and KLM ones and they really suck. These designers are awfully fools.

Hey Lan_Fanatic: If you really think they are that bad, then where is your fantasy schemes? We could all use a good laugh. It's easy to criticize someones work, but I doubt you could draw a stick figure idiot.

I think that incorporating a flow of colours down the fuselage with the kangaroo on the tail is still the way to go. I just hope to god that whatever Qantas does, it doesnt turn out like a nineties throwback that was a good idea at the time but later on you thought: what were they thinking? (e.g:Ryanair, Bmi, Air Pacific).

If QF could take a leaf out of LanChile, BMI and Air Tahiti Nui's book, it would be a good thing. I agree they need to keep the read and the kangaroo but a bit of colour on the fuselage would be great!

Ryefly, they are brillian paintschemes i really love the band-flare effect at the top of the fuselage on varaition 4 with the gold and black and they are all very professionally presented . That is an excellent scheme but i dont really like the typeface, what i would like to see is Qantas trashing the cheap-looking red branding and having a completely golden tail that would look brilliant and basically Qantas would have to do is pain the tail a different colour. Face it Qantas the 80s are over, but do you know Qantas to break away from their severe conservative uniforms and their overall very dowdy image of red white and blue?
