WOW! That's crazy. How was the flight? Anything wrong that people wouldn't fly or something? I can't believe they wouldn't cancel such a flight.

The emptiest I've seen a flight lately was a Southwest flight from PHX-LAS on a Sunday night (12/2/01) where there were only 16 pax in the whole B737.

That is pretty crazy! I see two passengers however (wow, big difference, huh?  Laugh out loud). If you increase the brightness in Photoshop or another program another passenger is visible to the left of the first one about a centimeter and a little down. You will see what I mean.

Well,

I take it the plane had to get back to Windhoek, Namibia.

You'd hope that there'd be enough cargo in the belly.

Cheers,

Thanx

Just flew SDY - ISN and there was only 1 other person besides my friends and me on board. Well, the Metro IIIs only seat 19 anyway.

And on December 2nd this year I was on a UA Shuttle 735 aircraft from DEN to BIL and there were only 23 other people on board besides my dad and I.

"Take a look on my seat during the flight from LHR to FRA."

And if you read his trip report https://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_reports/read.main/7677/4/ you will find out something more: There were about 30 passengers plus a dead-head crew on board LHR-FRA, and 200 passengers boarded the aircraft for FRA-WDH.

You have to wonder if Namibia has the 744 for anything more than vanity purposes...

I remember travelling from LCY to MGL in '98 on a Fokker 50 with only 6 pax. Nice experience. In '99 on a FD ATR from LGW to GCI about 12 pax. In October after the SR drama I was on a LX Saab 2000 flight from BSL - CGN with about 15 pax (although all other flights on that day were full to capacity). Most comfortable empty flight I remember was in May 2001 from CLK to CNS on a CX A330-300 - I did not count but every passenger in Y-class had a row for herself, providing a good opportunity to catch some sleep.
