As long as I can remember USAirways first route into LGW was from PHL.

I don't think US has ever flown its own metal into JFK - maybe US Express.

Nickofatlanta: USAir flew into JFK up until early 90's (they pulled out to furthur develop their LGA hub and JFK was too expensive to operate from because all gates were leased - mostly from Eastern). However, all routes were domestic. All USAir/US Airways transatlantic routes have always been from PHl, PIT and CLT. Hope I helped!

I think US also flew from LGW to BWI before the BA / US alliance.

I have an Airways magazine, and I noticed a while back, that there was a prop USAirways express at JFK. When I flew into JFK on Sun Countrys 727s in 2000, I noticed one holding short of the runway at landing.

In the British Airways/USAir alliance, US codeshared on BA's flights to London from JFK, so maybe that's what you're thinking of. USAir did provide connecting service out of JFK to select destinations to feed the BA transatlantic hubs, however JFK was secondary for the feeding operation, as most connections went thru PHL. USAir Express did operate JFK-DCA designed to provide "seemless" connections to/from the Concorde.

US Airways NEVER flew from JFK to London/Gatwick. The airline did have a small presence at JFK during the 1980's and through the mid-1990's. Initially, US Air operated out of the TWA International terminal to its
hub airports (BWI, PHL, maybe PIT and maybe CLT)
since Piedmont did fly JFK-CLT.

In 1992, BA and US Air formed an alliance and at that point, USAir as it was known then, moved to Terminal 7, the BA/United terminal and operated its flights from there.

US Airways no longer flies to JFK. The BA/US alliance was dismantled in 1996 to make way for the BA/AA alliance.

US Airways' DOES fly to LGW from PHL, PIT, and CLT.

USAir used BOS as a Europeangatewys though I forget the cities that were served. I am pretty sure CDG was one of them though. They also had international crews based at BOS.

US has only ever flown transatlantic flights out of PHL, PIT, BWI and CLT.

Never BOS or JFK.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
