Not bad, not bad.
Can anyone tell what is missing or added from last summer?

A couple of things I notice are that ORD-LHR is now all 777's. I believe last summer it was 4x, 5x 3 days a week, but two of the flights were with 762's. As a matter of fact, all 762's are gone from Trans-Atlantic.

Also ORD-ARN, ORD-MXP, SJC-CDG all appear to be gone. Anymore?

Wow! 19 flights per day to London that is really a lot. I wish FRA would be doing so good but at least we will see the 777 on the DFW-FRA route as of april.

About the 767-200's, you're right. They are no more of them flying across the pond, I think that now we only see them on the following US domestic routes:
the most important one: JFK-LAX
and these: JFK-SFO, ORD-LAX, ORD-SFO, BOS-LAX, IAD-LAX, MIA-LAX and JFK-MIA
I know there are no more of those flying to Europe but are there any still flying internationally to Latin America? I'm not sure. I don't think there are any flying to Hawaai. American now has 29 767-200's left (they always had 30, minus 1 that was lost on Sept 11) and has none on order. I flew on a lot of AA767-200's transatlantic, mostly BRU-ORD roundtrip. Almost a year ago when I flew on a 767 from BRU to ORD, it was still a 200. EWR-LHR also had the 767-200 at one time.

Looks like AA will trail DL (leader in number of daily flights across the Atlantic this summer) by just 1 flight a day with this summer schedule:

Delta:
From ATL: 18
From JFK: 14
From CVG: 3
From BOS: 1
Total: 36

American:
From ORD: 11
From JFK: 9
From DFW: 5
From MIA: 3
From BOS: 3
From RDU: 1
From EWR: 1
From LAX: 1
From STL: 1
Total: 35

United and Continental each will have fewer flights a day than the above...

Flights don't matter as much as Revenue Passenger Miles. And in that department, currently United is the leading US carrier to Europe.

Here's UA come summer time: *projection

BOS-LHR: 763 (1)
JFK-LHR: 763 (1); 777 (2)
EWR-LHR: 777 (1)
IAD-LHR: 777 (3); 744 (1)
ORD-LHR: 777 (3); 763 (1)
SFO-LHR: 763 (1); 777 (1); 744 (1)
LAX-LHR: 777 (2)

SFO-FRA: 777 (1)
DEN-FRA: 777 (1)
ORD-FRA: 777 (1); 744 (1)
IAD-FRA: 777 (1); 744 (1)

SFO-CDG: 777 (1)
ORD-CDG: 763 (1); 777 (1)
IAD-CDG: 763 (1); 777 (1)

IAD-AMS: 777 (1)
IAD-BRU: 777 (1)
IAD-MXP: 763 (1)
IAD-MUC: 763 (1)
IAD-DUS: 763 (1)

Possible reinstatement of ORD-AMS: 777 (1)

United:

IAD: 13
ORD: 8 (+1)
SFO: 5
JFK: 3
LAX: 2
DEN: 1
EWR: 1
BOS: 1

UNITED: 34 (+1) <--possible ORD-AMS

United is right up there, but it gains its RPMs by flying, on average, longer routes and larger equipment.

The Big 3 are gonna be close over the Atlantic...

The latest UA schedules would seem to indicate that they're down quite a bit this coming summer:

JFK-LHR: 777 (1); 763 (1) - not reinstating 1 763
IAD-LHR: 777 (2); 763 (1) - no 744
LAX-LHR: 777 (1); not reinstating the other 777
ORD-LHR: 777 (3); no 1 763
SFO-LHR: 777 (2); no 744 and no 3rd flight
DEN-FRA: not returning; 1-stop thru ORD (UA944)
ORD-FRA: 777 (2); no 744
IAD-FRA: 777 (2); no 744
IAD-CDG: 777 (1); no 2nd flight
ORD-CDG: 777 (1); no 2nd flight
IAD-BRU: 763 (1); not a 777

That's at least 6 flights fewer daily, not including the equipment downgrade on several routes....

DEN-FRA is returning. The updated UA skd for even April is not in yet. UA updates is schedules later than other carriers. By summer, you'll see my projections will be quite in line.

DEN-FRA is not returning. They updated the flight into the schedules returning 07Apr02 and then took it away about two weeks ago. Supposedly, yields were low.

I read in the photo request forum that "The daily RDU-London flight, initiated in May of 1994, has proven to be American's most successful transatlantic crossing." I guess it makes sense for this route to have AA's biggest plane... Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I was hoping that AA would start ORD-HEL now that the ORD-ARN is gone. In my opinion the HEL route could well be a success since AA could codeshare their Oneworld partner AY routes from HEL to the Russia and eastern parts of Europe.

Also, the only connection from HEL to the US is the HEL-JFK with Finnair, which is not the most convenient flight in terms of connections in the US.

Greetings,

Thats gotten worse now that AY has reduced HEL-JFK to 3x weekly.

HEL-JFK is back to daily this summer, I believe. I would really like to see an MIA-HEL flight on AY or AA. Miami has America's second largest Finnish population, demand exists. AY flew here with DC10s and MD11s until 1997 or so, 2x a week.
