Hopefully, you're right!

3rd hand info so I've no idea on reliability but I've been told "something is planned for next month but it may only be an 800 replacing a retiring 700 special scheme". Any more info folks?

On a separate thread there was a quote from the GM of SMF who said that we'd be hearing about Hawaii in August. Hawaii will be flown with -800's and that plane will most likely be ready next month. Who knows... Let the speculation continue.

I've seen it at RNT - can confirm the white winglets and rudder so definitely out of the ordinary. Surely some WN experts here working in flight ops or maint with knowledge or is everyone keeping schtum? :boggled:

I'm sitting on her right now....new paint and interior, but original galleys.

Pics to follow. :D

Not doing a galley refresh will be a bad mistake by WN management. It's a Half cart SNFU all over again. Especially since there thinking of full service offered Short hop inter Island flights .
And for those who think they will not do a full service on these flights. Think again their 800's right now fly some of the shortest flights in their system and full
Service is offered on every flight with similar short block times.
And if Hawaiian doesn't offer full service on inter island flights WN will probably keep it the same as the short Texas 2 step just to offer something different.

Reliable sources say once ETOPS gets finalized by the FAA the ETOPS aircraft will get some additional decals added to them for a Hawaii promotion.
Thanks for the information.

Are the winglets grey or white? Because every WN 737-800 delivers with grey winglets and they get scimitars at PAE before entering revenue service.

Now the rudder is a different story...

8314 has had new seats for 2 years :D

Everyone wants galleys, but who is going to fork over millions for them? The MAX will replace the 800 ETOPS soon enough. Not worth the investment for just a little bit of time.

Hawaii One! :stirthepot:

That would be really cool but I doubt it. AFAIK, the B738s operating to Hawaii will be ETOPS and 8581 will unlikely be equipped. WN hasn't even taken delivery of an ETOPS B738 since 2012.

Also, does anyone know 7M8 N8717M had it's ETOPS labels removed shortly after delivery? It originally had the labels on the nose wheel doors but then I photographed it a few weeks later and it no longer had them.

For the FAA simulation ETOPS flights and certification procedures currently going on with the ETOPS NG800.
WN decided to help ground ops staff avoid confusion. So they temporarily removed and Down graded the 8MAX Etops aircraft until the certification is officially approved.
In 2019 the 8MAX ETOPS and 7MAX ETOPS will go for FAA ETOPS approvals and then the marking will be reapplied.

SWA has two 737-700’s not flying—-N772SW parked at VCV after it was repaired following the accident and N7889A at PAE which was reconditioned after it was purchased from an airline in China

They are starting to get there, half way to go! Gonna miss the classic Blue Canyon Livery, and I hope they can do something about the Desert Liveries as well, probably not gonna happen though.

714 will be repainted into the Heart livery next year.. As of now 711 is expected to be the only WN aircraft to keep the gold paint. However I can’t help but wonder what will replace it when it eventually gets retired.

When the -800s first arrived, they only met to serve a very select few destinations. Now they pretty much are everywhere throughout the WN system.. IMHO it would be a better move to move all the specialty planes to the -800s..

Both have been repainted into the “Heart” livery, and do not have any Warrior One or Spirit One nose decals. AFAIK there’s no plans to keep a plane in Canyon Blue.

Thanks for the update. At one point, it was decided there would be three remaining classic liveriers - one for each of our first three cities. Sad how that has changed. 711HK won't be around forever, I hope they make a replacement - maybe a MAX7.

711 probably won't ever be painted to the Heart livery. The things that plane represents are too sentimental to the airline, I reckon.

When the first 7 MAX7 starts arriving on property WN going to start retirement of the early 700NG which includes the 711HK. One of the First MAX7 is rumoured to become the Founders airplane painted in Original desart Gold flake. With a triangle emblem painting on the nose With HERB,Colleen and Rollin name at each point.

When the Heart livery was introduced I remember hearing Warrior One would remain in the Spirit livery but now with Hawaii preparations underway the ETOPS-ready birds are being repainted for consistent brand identity in Hawaii.

I don’t believe that one bit.. The 7MAX is going to be the new “500” in which WN only gets a few of them, and use it for its range. IF WN were to do this, they’d do it on a -700 that’s due for a repaint. IMHO it won’t be a true replacement for the -700.

N711 won’t ever be repainted, that is true. With the -700s starting to leave next year, I’d say any of the N7 frames are likely candidates for retirement.

One other thing to keep in mind, WN had issues maintaing the Canyon Blue paint. IMHO this is why you’ll never see a plane retain the “Spirit” livery as much as I’d like to see it. However “Triple Crown One” does sport the Canyon Blue paint as part of its livery.

I think that WN will order more 737 MAX 7 planes from Boeing at some point since WN serves smaller markets in Texas, the Florida Panhandle, the Pacific Northwest, and the Northeastern U.S. where planes smaller than the 737 MAX 8 such as the 737-700 and 737 MAX 7 are a better fit.

Any chance of a new completed Heart list. Quite a few more should have been done.

I have just flown on Southwest [ATL-STL-SAN], and there seems to be a solid amount of new livery aircraft. My first was Nevada One [still holding out]!

Any updates - the figure is 66.97%, so over two thirds in Heart livery.

Has N707SA been repainted to heart? I think this is the oldest 737-700.

Yes N707SA is the oldest and in fact is #1 in the production list. However the first 700 that actually went into service with SWA was N700GS which was production #4. It is the high time SWA 700 having gone into service on 17 December 1997.

Supposedly 20 -700’s will be retired in 2019 according to Tammy Romo during the Q4 Earnings call. You can draw your own conclusions on which 20, but 700-720 would be as good a guess as any I suppose.

In related news Sounds like the very first MAX7 will now be the Herb 711HK replacement.

I highly doubt the Herb Kelleher-700 replacement will be a 7MAX.. IMHO it will be one of the N9** birds that have yet to be repainted. Not sure what the routes are going to be for the 7MAX, but I’d imagine the 700s will still fly a majority of the routes in the WN system.

I also heard of some of the -700 replacements being some of the former airTran planes?

Kinda wondering if we will see a new specialty plane this year?

I know Tammy said that but trust me they will not retire 20 in 2019 unless the economy heads south. They are watching United grow and will need these aircraft after losing 800’s to Hawaii
