The goverment has authorized seven flights per week over the next five years, are expected to begin within the nect 90 days.
The private airline LanPeru has received authorization from the Peruvian Air Transport Administration to beging passanger, cargo, and mail transport sevice to and from Miami.
The firm initially plans to cover the route with one Boeing 767-200.
This is great for Peruvian citizens. If LanPeru follow the standarts of its parent airline - LanChile - this new Peruvian airline will be the leading in Peru, country that for many years has had very poor airlines in quality and finances.

p.s. Will LanPeru lease a B767-200? From which lessor?I thought they would lease a B767-300 from LanChile to start services (would be easer and cheaper).
According to press reports, LAN Peru will use a B767-300 from Lan Chile. It will use the same Lan colours. The eight domestic points in Peru are covered with three B737-200.
I saw a pic of a LanPeru 737. It is identical C/S to the new Lan Chile scheme but where on LanChile it says "Chile" this one says "Peru", and easy and inexpensive paint job.
