Mon Jul 11, 2016 6:25 am

AI may resume flights to Nairobi and Dar Es Salaam. They will assess the market potential first before mounting flights to these cities.

They will have a tough go at it. Lots of competition and very low fares. DAR fares are REALLY low.

Maybe there's enough of an Indian diaspora in both to justify direct flights? I guess they're thinking the 787 might make these routes work this time around.

Well, will it be their 3rd, 4th or more attempt to restart flights to East Africa?

Insanely low. WB is going to get torn to shreds. Although Africa-Southeast Asia fares appear to be even lower, especially per mile/kilometer.

I think that WB is going to get "torn to shreds" with an A330 no matter where they send it. BOM will be terrible even if the flights are full, but I can't envision how any station will work. Do they report profit numbers?

From BOM these might just be doable with an A320.

Dar would be easily doable with a A319/A320. NBO might be a little more challenging because of altitude (nearly 6,000 ft AMSL), but should be doable.
