WN 737-300 Special Liveries

Fri Aug 05, 2016 4:24 pm

First time post, long time reader.

This morning I received an email from WN, and I noticed that it had a little picture of California One with the new Heart tail. Does anyone know when that airplane will be retired and moved to a -700? Since Lone Star was retired, California and Arizona are the only state flags left. How much time do they still have?

Lone Star One was retired but re-born as N931WN, I believe. Flying once again!

Are you talking about only flags on the -300? Or all flags on all types?
They have
Texas
California
Arizona
New Mexico
Tennessee
Florida
Illinois
Maryland
Colorado
Missouri
and probably some others I missed.
When wasn't America great?

Sorry for the confusion. I was speaking just for the -300's. There used to be Triple Crown, Silver, Lone Star, Arizona, and California. Silver was repainted, Lone Star was retired to a -700, Triple Crown was repainted and moved to a -700, and now we are left with CA and AZ. I was just curious if there was a set date for when California One and Arizona One would be retired?

Hasn't that already happened? I saw it on another thread with a link to WN's twitter. Were they just announcing it then or is it flying now?

It's been flying for weeks. Saw it over Houston a few weeks ago. Looks great!

I think the poster is clear on the new Lone Star - they are asking if CA and AZ One will follow the same path. I haven't heard anything, but it seems likely.

California One and Arizona One will be repainted onto a -700. AFAIK there are no plans for an -800 specialty plane. As far as what tail number(s) those two aircraft will be, that is a good question. Since the N9** tail numbers are going through repaints right now, I'd imagine it would be one of those.

I did say it was reborn.
