N. Korean Athletes route to Brazil?

Sat Aug 06, 2016 3:25 am

Hi All, As we know North Korea is being represented in this years Olympics. I was wondering how did the athletes get to Rio? Did they fly with the Chinese? If anyone knows what aircraft and routing they flew it'd be greatly appreciated!

According to Flightradar, one of the Air Koryo aircraft, P-632, have flown to South America via Cuba last week. Probably due to Olympics.

No it didn't one of Cubana's TU204 freighters erroneously reports the same HEX code.

The DPRK team and a minders normally route via Beijing and Air China.

I'm more interested to know what route they will take home... if any!

All of these people have families, presumably, so I wouldn't worry about that. The regime is creative when it comes to ensuring the "loyalty" of citizens, and they have no problem sending entire families, including children, to labor camps for generations. Some people do it anyway, but it's not quite as easy as defecting Cuba.
