Update on Hawaiian Airlines new livery?

With 10 days to go until the rumored livery unveil, has any A330 been taken out of service for a week, or sent anywhere for paint?

Can't find any updates on my usual sources so we will have to wait until tomorrow. Hoping it's not a drastic change as I like the current livery. I am wondering if the leaked new livery might be a decoy to throw us off.

None of the A330s or B767s have been anywhere but the normal destinations served by HA with the exception of ship N384HA which flew from SJC to PAE on the 19th and appears to have been there ever since.

The ship I flew on 4/17 from HNL to PDX I believe went to MSP for maintenance right after we disembarked. I can't remember the registration number though for that plane.

There are a couple HA widebodies at MCI. I think they are 76's though, couldn't tell.

On Hawaiian's Facebook page, they show the evolution of the HA logo saying........
"We’ve been celebrating Lei Day (May 1) since our company was born, and every year we evolve and celebrate it a little differently. This year is no exception – tune in to our Facebook Live post tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. HST to see how we #ceLEIbrate this year! #CountdownToLeiDay"

It should be the unveiling.

The are no 767s in MCI at the moment. low season maintenance is complete and all are in operations out of HNL/OGG. N583HA (leased from ILFC) is due to be retired in Q4 as the last (for now!) A330 joins the fleet. The rest will go next year as A321neos arrive.

Interestingly, their Facebook post hints at a new logo. However, on the "leaked" images, the logo doesn't look like it changed at all. I'm starting to believe that it very well could have been decoy.

The font is different in the leaked livery and the arrangement of the flowers on the tail is different. They could have easily adjusted the Pualani logo. The actual standalone Hawaiian logo/brand mark (which is not featured on the livery even now) has not actually leaked yet as far as I know, just the supposed livery.

Looks like the leaked image was real. I like the new logo and revised livery. Nothing too major, just a touch up, not dissimilar to what Alaska did last year.

EDIT: Looks like their website is already reflecting the updated brand. I like the pink to purple gradient. Really nice touch!

Good example of not fixing what's not broken. I like it but there's something about the font that I don't like, especially on the plane. Just my 2 cents

Announcement came out today during Lei Day ceremonies at Hawaiian Air. The picture that was posted a few weeks back is the livery that will be on the planes. One plane, a 717, arrived back in Honolulu last night from Victorville with the new look.

I have to say I like the new look. I would have been even content without the grey flowers at the fuselage.

Looking at the "lady", she got longer eyebrows, a more stubby nose and a modern hair cut :-)
But in general, the logo looks more fresh.

With this subtile change the airline left the 80s / 90s style into a more modern styling ;-)

Well done, HA! I have some minor quibbles, but overall it's a nice refresh. I like the new look on the aircraft. The logo I could go either way on, but it remains excellent. I think the font is only thing I don't like as well. But like I said, minor quibble.

I like it overall, but I must say, i think they could have done without the grey/silver flowers on the fuselage. It makes it look 'messy' imho. Also, I suspect that in the wrong lighting conditions,or from a distance, it will just look like one of the painters accidentally dropped a few buckets of grey paint over the aircraft.

Really enjoy this refresh! I wish the lei was either natural shades of green or the pinks and purples of the logo to really finish it off but that's my only critique. Over all very well done!

What I like most about this is that many employees were included in the refresh process. There's a meaning behind everything painted on our planes; even more so now. Pualani has never looked better! I can't wait to see where our airline goes next!

I like it ! I mean, its not better or worst than the previous livery. IMHO, I prefer the tail and logo of the old livery, but I love the flowers of the new one. About the tittle, I think the Hawaiian name should be also bigger. But in general a very good job and a very stylish change, its been a real relief...Nowadays a new livery represents in most of the cases a big disappointment.

A nice evolution of the livery. I'm glad Hawaiian did not go Eurowhite.

I don't want to hate it, and I don't hate it, but it seems like an unnecessary change. The livery looks more cluttered rather than streamlined, and the logo itself has lost the cool feature of it being a flower silhouette all the way through. Now, I can't help but see Vodafone's logo.

It could have been much worse, and it's still not bad. I just don't see why they needed to do anything. Their livery is already pretty great as it is. And I'm usually not one to mourn old liveries and say that all the new ones are bad.

I imagine HA had some choice words for GeminiJets for leaking the new livery so far in advance. That said, I'm sure not many people outside the aviation / model collectors community had any idea.
