The Hello kitty Jet of EVA AIR's A332 will retired soon

Wed Aug 10, 2016 3:48 am

Hello everyone,
According to the following line :http://www.evaair.com/en-us/flight-information/travel-news/notice-of-service-change-kitty-jet-flight.html?filter=
We can see that the Kitty Jet A332 have stopped flying some placesFor example, BR087&BR088 from Taipei to Paris and so on.Although the EVA AIR stop using Kitty planes to fly these routes they still provide Hello Kitty Service and Meals Items.According to these changes.I think the Kitty jet (A332) will retired soon.

The BR87/88 stoppage is only for the sake of maintenance. The plane is going to be going through a major check. They are retiring all there A332 this year so not surprised the hello kitty on the A332 is going. Taiwanese media says that they will paint a new one with Hello Kitty/Penguins and fly it on domestic routes.

What domestic route has the kind of demand to justify an A332?

Any update when will EVA Air announce direct flights to Delhi? Which aircraft will they use on TPE-DEL route? The Indian cabinet gave its approval for revision of bilateral air services agreement with Taiwan in June 2016.

EVA/UNI AIR only uses ATR-72 for Taiwan domestic routes. I'm pretty sure after the retirement of MD-90, EVA/UNI only has prop planes running the domestic routes.

I didnt mean they will pull the A332 onto domestic routes. I mean that they will paint one of the prop planes with the Hello Kitty/Penguin design.

BNE-TPE is still loaded as an A332 in March next year... I assume would have to be replaced by an A333? Demand is not there for a 77W or 744; especially with the increase from 2x to 5x weekly in October

Won't they fly this route using A330-300 aircraft? I guess they plan to launch this year itself. BR has ordered 18 B787-10 which will enter into commercial service no earlier than 2018.

All A330s are being used on SE Asia/Japan routes rn. They have less then 10 on hand. I think they will start it next year when they pull the A330 off the Vienna route. Flying to Delhi and back takes the plane away for a whole day so it is very hard to utilize an aircraft they like to use for high density Japan/SE Asia traffic.

They told the shareholders/media the A332s are going by 2017 first half, with most being returned/retired this year.
