Nice to see them expand, just wish they would update/improve their Saga Class, so out of date I think more like a posh charter airline product.

Yes! Seattle! That's very exciting, but not unexpected.

With AS being a partner, I think the 767 is appropriate. Perhaps that could be a daily 767 in the summer.

How many seats will London have in winter with British Airways (LHR), easyJet (LGW, LTN, STN), Icelandair (LGW, LHR), Norwegian (LGW) and WOW (LGW)?

Rough estimate 9300 seats per week and that also includes Thomson Airways scheduled charter flights from LGW.
What makes this calculation difficult is the chopping and changing of equipment used by U2 and WW.
WW posts that they will use A320 but KEF-LGW is usually an A321 with the odd A333 also flying the route.
U2 uses A320 or A319 depending on ????.

It would seem to me that all this service will require more than 2 aircraft. Does FI have plans to increase their 767 fleet?

They do. The route seems to be a great success, they will often double up on it and send two 757s in the afternoon. I was slightly surprised in the spring that SEA did not get any 767 service in the summer but I guess that they might be too expensive to be allowed to sit on the tarmac there for almost a day between flights. Winter might have more slack to allow that.

Yes they have purchased an additional 2x 767-319ER from NZ which have just left the fleet and are currently getting converted for FI. NZ also as 3 more left in the fleet that are due to be gone by March 2017 so maybe they will end up with FI aswell.

Currently both of FI 767s are 319ERs which started there life off with NZ, before moving to other airlines. Originally there was 10x -319ERs but for NZ, maybe FI will try get them all?

By the cods, they really are scaling up! :|

Good to hear, though, and excellent that some 767s find a new home. It almost sounds like those Boeings are a pretty decent fit - considering they aren't 757 models. It might well be time for a trip over there, though the thought of having to go way south to go north kinda goes against the grain, but that's my issue

They can double up on SEA, but not on LHR or JFK, because of slot restrictions. I think the investment into the 767 are pretty low, so in the future we will see them siting on the tarmac on the longer North America flights. When they have two flights a day, leaving in the morning and afternoon from Iceland, the wait gets a bit shorter for the returning frame.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them use the two arriving 767 to start California service in the summer, maybe OAK or SJC to serve the Bay Area and SAN and/or LAX to serve Southern California? The PDX route has been doing very well at 4 days a week, and with WOW starting these routes it would seem the west coast market is ripe for this route, at least sesonally.

Does anybody know if airlines pay by the hour for having a plane sit at an airport like Sea-Tac for that long? Is there standard charge to have a plane towed to a remote stand and then back to the gate or is there additional cost based on the length of the parking?
