I have no idea, but some scenarios:
- Snatched by Boeing in order to find out how to make a MoM...
- Maintenance. Does anyone do AIRBUS maintenance a BWI? Don't think so...
- Returned to lessor? Repo man? Probably not.
- Ground incident? Damage? Any tech faults would likely take less time to fix..

Been sitting at BWI since Sept.5. Kinda long groundstop.

Looks like the are down an airplane per the KEF website. There have been delays and cancellations, and they are using an A330 to BWI today.
Expensive to replace a 220 seater with a 350 seater...

Thank you asuflyer for the only qualified answer to my post. That declares why "MOM" is stuck up at BWI. Hope they soon will get the birds out of the engine so that MOM can fly back to her Family... ;-)

Must have been one heck of a birdstrike with a/c still there 6 days later...and not a word or a photo anywhere.

Must be a big bird, or a whole flock of them.

I recall a U2 A320 I flew from EDI To BRS.

Hit a bird on landing, took 60 minutes to it up and then good to go.

They've been using an A330 to BWI off and on for a couple months now.

If it's still there after all this time it clearly FUBARED part or all of the engine so either a change out or parts are needed, bird strikes come in varying degrees of damage from nothing bar a clean up to bringing the aircraft down into the Hudson
Must think up a new one soon, slow moving brain trying to get into gear ;)

The A330 isn't a replacement for the A321. They use A330's into BWI occasionally, once a week I think.

8 days AOG. More to it than a simple engine change I guess. Wonder if the NTSB is involved?

LOL, if TF-MOM ever got a 319, I guess it'd be named TF-KID.

TF-MOM and TF-DAD already have a TF-KID, but it's a A321 like the parents.

If you're still counting, than TF-BRO and TF-SIS are both A320s, so it does kind of count...
The funny thing about TF-KID is that it's the only A321 in the WOW fleet with no sharklets.

TF-KID and TF-SON have wing fences unlike the other 4 A321s. which have winglets.

Large birds near the aircraft are Canada Geese. The dark smudge in the distance is a flock of Starlings, Grackles or Blackbirds. Fairly common to see birds near the flight paths at BWI, especially when flocks of the smaller birds are going to roost in late afternoons in fall/winter.

The warm weather goose problem near eastern USA airports (parks, golf courses, some farms) are a direct result of the US Fish and Wildlife Service having encouraged, back in the 70s and 80s, the establishment on non-migratory Canada Goose populations based on "rescued" injured wintering birds. Today, many airports have to spend big bucks trying to keep birds away from airport properties.

I'm afraid it's a shredded goose...

Thank you for correcting me. There is one rather largish piece of shredded goose that should have alerted me to the "smudge" not being a distant background flock of small birds (they really can look like that to my naked eye).
