DHL A300F from Goodyear to San Bernardino

Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:48 pm

Cactuswings shows it going to San Bernardino earlier this month.

Is it going to be broken there, or being returned to service?.

N364DH, flown by Jet Test International from GYR to SBD. Owner is Bank of Utah Trustee, airworthiness date June 29, 2016. Parked by DHL in July 2009 with approximately 51000 hours/29000 cycles. Have we reached the bottom of the barrel with the 767 freighter availability to where an old mothballed A300 is returned to service? Odd to hire a ferry company to move it after 7 years just to scrap?

This early one requires a flight engineer, so very doubtful it's entering cargo service in the u.s. My guess it's either heading to central Asia like the other A300B2F tgat was flown out of Turkey last week, or based on tge company name it may get converted to another zero g rig.

Just a note -- the owner shown on the registration, if it's as a trustee, masks who the actual owner is. Usually, this is the case where the aircraft is owned by an investment partnership or a lessor, or if it is pledged as collateral. The trustee handles the administration of the asset. So "Bank of Utah" as "owner" on the reg doesn't tell you much about who the actual owner is.
