Why endure the nightmare and congestion of LAX when BUR, LGB, ONT & SNA is so much easier to fly in and out of. Same with OAK & SJC when it comes to SFO.

Yeah, the uncertainty around DB is driving the euro debt markets nuts. This isn't airline centric.

This could be indicative of a thousand different things for each carrier...... or nothing, for any of them.

Asking thread starters to post more than a link and a brief comment deters users from spamming our boards. It's an attempt to hold people to a higher standard by getting good quality thread starters. Yes, people should read the article, but people should also be given the option of seeing a brief synopsis or key points to spur discussion. Ideally it would include brief quotes or unbiased summary, because in reality, many users won't read the article, so a strong summary helps prevent misguided discussion. Naturally in plenty of cases personal bias seeps through, and this is something we would similarly like to avoid seeing.
This isn't based on my personal beliefs, these are the standards that have long been pushed by other moderators on this site to promote insightful commentary based on user feedback. We just like to offer a friendly reminder so that we can continue the tradition on this site of professional, intelligent postings and discussions. Well, that's the idea anyway!

My personal view on this matter is, that nothing will happen. Deutsche Bank would be bailed out by the government, it is one of these companies which are too big to fail. The German government even saved the way smaller Commerzbank and multiple smaller banks in 2009.
So far their CEO states all rumours are false, they have enough cash reserves and he never asked the government to bail out the bank. As this was an official statement and he could not risk lying about that as the CEO of a company listed on the stock market, I think everything is safe.

I think so too. Merkel stated that a bailout was out of the question, but when push comes to shove? This may be an issue for the German economy in the short run, but a solution may be near. They have set aside 5.5 billion$ for a settlement with the DOJ. Perhaps they'll settle at 4bil$?

And in this case, a synopsis will help you from having to click on a zerohedge article, which tend to be as conspiracy laden and not based in facts as they get. I think I'll wait for information to come out on an actual credible news source.

With Commerzbank announcing they are axing almost 10,000 full time jobs and retreating from investment banking and other past core business functions, there is ZERO chance the German government will let DB collapse. The remaining smaller banks, mostly Landesbanken and Sparkassen, do not provide all the services in the debt market that the German economy needs locally. I certainly don't think DB collapsing should be on anyone's list of major concerns.
