It appears to me that his claim is a spaceport, not an airport. Apparently the ancient Sumerians bypassed learning to build airplanes for transportation and moved directly to space travel. I am not sure what they used for propulsion. I do note that much of modern Science Fiction has various spacecraft that does not use conventional rockets and have some kind of "mystery" propulsion system that does not work within what we understand are the existing laws of physics.

Perhaps the Sumerians were excellent intellectual physicist and figured out things about the universe that we have yet to understand... and were thus able to build such spaceships (out of what materials I am not sure as I thought that they were mainly limited to normal clay pottery and simple casting and forging of a few metals (Copper, Lead, Silver, Gold, etc)). In the history of science and technology there have been a few discoveries where ancient understandings turned out to be true or better than more modern ones.

Have a great day,

at least back then there was a direct connection to nazca, peru, with the oldest runways. there is only one missing link: the oldest online- check- in... if this is found, then there is no doubt at all!

I read about those spaceships. The earliest versions sat 9-across, but eventually, they switched to 10-across due to the better revenue potential. I heard that it was pretty much miserable on any flights farther than Saturn.

He should have gotten them to build an airport in Berlin. If they had, it might be close to being completed by now.

LOL! I guess that means the first flight was in Iraq and not North Carolina. Iraqi aviation has sure come a long way since then! ;)

Well, with 6,800 years before the first aircraft gets invented, and then another 100 years or so to get to the current 2016, it it any wonder why airline service has degenerated the way it has during the interval? Hell, it practically takes that long for a flight attendant to bring you a glass of water these days. Things were a hell of a lot better on Air Ezekiel. When they advertised "See a light in the sky", they really meant it.

A pair of pilots I knew from flying school were Iraqi, and they were absolutely adamant that the first ever manned flight took place in Iraq several thousand years ago. It's some kind of quasi-patriotic/nationalistic Iraqi myth, that has been repeated so often in some groups that it is now regarded by some as a fact. Of course, they also blamed "racist western/american media" for not recognizing it...

Well before the ME3 drove them out of busines..

Of course this makes sense now, so the Lufthansa logo is really a legacy of their take over in 4228 BC of Pterodactyl Airways.

.....and to think these scientists have been blaming us for global warning, and it turns out it was all these generations before us that started it!

That still won't get you 7,000 years, not by a long shot. Using an average of 25 years (its 20 in early history to touching 30 in some modern nations) for a generation, that's 2,375 years (95x25). You will need Elon's forebear of about 280 generations removed.
In case you are interested, the world's longest recorded main lineage is that of Confucius'. Over 2,500 years and 80+ Generations.

I like this (in green):
Then in 1998 Kong Deyong, a 77th-generation descendant and head of the World Federation of Confucius Descendants, set up a committee in Hong Kong to update the family tree. More than 450 branches were set up around the world to assist in the work.

According to the genealogy's chief editor Kong Dewei, the fifth edition contains over 1.3 million new entries. Living descendants have to pay five yuan (70 US cents) to be included. The dead get in for free. The 1937 edition had 600,000 entries, so the new edition contains more than two million.

A lot of people here seem to be unaware of this long-running myth:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chariots_of_the_Gods%3F

That book was one of the most popular on the topic in recent decades, especially in the 70's. Most of the "history" channel nonsense about aliens traces in some form back to von Daniken.

Since I believe the actual basis of the claim is from the ancient stories regarding origin of the world, species, etc. from the Middle East part of the world (and that part of the world is considered by many to be the cradle of civilization and there is archeological evidence to back up that concept and parts of those stories).

The angles, gods, and other "enlightened/powerful beings" moved point to point based on my understanding of those stories (and I have read them in the past).

Note that I make no claim as to how true or untrue those stories (or part of those stories) are. It is my personal observation that those stories better support some kind of spacecraft and not airplanes (in the cases where a craft was described). In some cases no craft was described as being needed for movement of "beings" from place to place.

'Bing Bong'. "Iraqi Airways regrets to announce a delay to flight 1 to Baghdad. This is due to operational reason. Specifically, we havent invented the plane yet. Also Baghdad hasnt been built yet. We expect a further update at 2pm. In 6900 years times. Please call to the information desk for a light refreshment voucher."

They just foresaw the difficulties in planning a major airport extension such as LHR, and started early.
