The link is in German, but it states that the last 737 flights for LH will be on October 29th. However, some later flights are seemingly not ruled out. The last flights will be

LH1223 Abflug Genf: 17.55 Uhr - Ankunft Frankfurt: 19.10 Uhr
LH137 Abflug Stuttgart: 18.30 Uhr - Ankunft Frankfurt: 19.20 Uhr
LH153 Abflug N├╝rnberg: 18.55 Uhr - Ankunft Frankfurt: 19.40 Uhr

Also, the link includes some fantastic Pictures from the 1960s showing the production run of the first B737 for LH.

Too bad it is dark when they come in, BTW, another nickname for the 737 was "Schweinchen" (piggy / Baby pig) which resulted in calling the far eastern parking stands at FRA the bay of pigs.

Thanks for posting. I didn't know the first LH 737 wore the old livery.

I flew yesterday on a trustworthy ex-LH -500 (1990 vintage, so 26 years of solid, intense service).... man, I loved it. So nicely maintained. And no rattles or shaky panels.. LH have done an amazing job at keeping those birds in tip-top shape.

On a side note, has anyone noticed how the -500s tend to be quieter in cruise than the (some at least) newer -800s??.. anyone knows why? Has perhaps soundproofing been diminished in the NG to save weight?

Re: LH's first 737
Looks like they worked on the tail and rudder until the final moments.
Did it roll out in this old style LH livery or did they repaint it with the new sun logo?

The 737-100s were delivered in the old scheme with the bar across the tail. Herpa have even made models of it.
