No, just one poster. No surprise of course ORD would be added before DTW despite one poster's rantings.

ME4? I don't think this is a thing.

Who's the 4th?
Let's fly! Unless it's on a CRJ 200, then I'll stay down here.

Although KEF still needs more capacity, this summer should be much better than last year. First off WOW has staggered its flights more so instead of all the FI and WOW arrivals/departures being between 5am-8am and 2pm-5pm it's now more like 4am-8am and 1pm-6pm which makes a ton of difference. Another factor is that the security was being repaired the whole of last summer and thus operated in a restricted capacity. It's now up to speed and better than ever. There has also been a steady increase in the number of remote gates which takes some of the pressure off the old gate area.

Regards!

Well it pretty much came apart at the seams last summer, so should only get worse this year!

ORD with its looong turnaround/taxi times will be a challenge for the slow flying 321 to make the round trip to arrive in time for the morning bank back in KEF.

Didn't WOW say that they were going to decide on a new European hub/base this summer? If I remember right Dublin, Edinburgh, are among those cities in the running.

It was DUB. People were saying though that WW was just saying it so KEF would expand faster to meet WW's expansion plans.

What are the bilateral agreements with Iceland and Canada? Are they frozen or open?

There is no bilateral. Iceland and Norway are part of the EU side in the Open Skies between EU-Canada.

Wow is starting KEF- Tel aviv route in September, 4x week. tuesday ,wednesday ,friday & saturday
First flight on 12th.september. A321 neo aircraft will be used.
Bookings open up tomorrow.
Will be interesting to see how this one works. Probably pretty hard to match connecting flights to/from the us without a long layover in KEF.

It will be interesting indeed to see the timing for these flights. The neo is an expensive bird to be leaving on the ground for long periods of time.

Seems that it will be able to connect with some of their U.S flights:

I wonder how much tourism from Israel this route will attract to Iceland.

Would the A321neo be able to reach DXB from KEF?

With substantial weight restrictions, it looks to be outside economical range.

Why is this not a separate thread? A major route announcement. I notice all WOW news just going in this 6 months old thread, meaning that someone is looking it up and updating. It's a stale thread.

I put it on the Nordic thread as well but I feel like that thread gets little traffic. This is a pretty historical route, the first scheduled flight from Iceland to Asia as far as I know.

Starts next month; there is no end date. The service was announced as year round and is reflected as such on their web site.

The TLV flights are now for sale. It leaves KEF at 18:35 and returns from TLV at 13:30 the day after. This means that westbound connections to BOS, BWI, EWR, ORD, PIT, YYZ and YUL are pretty convenient with two hour layover in KEF. The eastbound is another matter as it involves some 13-14 hours layover at KEF. Connecting betwween TLV and LAX, SFO or MIA has more even layovers in KEF at 4-5 hours in either direction.
