I don't think that is soot. I think that is mostly the discharge from the Purple-K fire extinguisher apparently used.

Contrary to the belief of this board, damage pictures are not the public's business particularly of areas not externally visible. Then there is the issue about private matters being shared publicly without the carrier's consent.....
