Etihad A340-541

Thu Nov 17, 2016 4:39 am

In a surprise move, Emirates have returned Airbus A340-541 A6-EHB (msn 757) to service this week after placing it into storage in January 2016.

I wonder where it will be operating?? Any ideas from anyone?

A6-EHB belongs to Etihad, not Emirates.

its pretty new, only 10 years old. Seems awfully young to get rid of it...and bring it back again.
If it ain't Boeing I ain't going PERIOD

Excellent news! The A340-500 is a wonderful plane. Will be interesting to see what routes Etihad puts it on.

I saw an EY A340-500 in MUC yesterday. Forgot to notice the reg, even though the aircraft was next to ours and I was looking at it for a long time - those engines are huge for an A340. But beautiful aircraft overall.
Come, fly the prevailing winds with me

Short hops for an A340-500. No ULH routes planed?
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

Etihad has 10 77Ls to use for any ULHs which would be far more fuel efficient for those routes. The A345's relatively poor fuel economy is less of an issue on these shorter hops.

I'm guessing EY are short on aircraft hence why they put the A345 back into service.

That is what I get for quickly looking at Wikipedia. My mistake (although the point still stands).
