I would add I've even seen their Star Alliance A320 with a white rudder

Agreed, I don't understand why SQ's aircraft should not be the same as others. The white tail livery is simply awful in my opinion.

Agreed, I don't understand why SQ's aircraft should not be the same as others. The white tail livery is simply awful in my opinion.

SQ for a while ran the Star Alliance livery with their own tail, IIRC because of something about their visual branding being in their opinion superior. As for the black tail, I believe I read somewhere on this site that SQ is superstitious of the black tail for some reason or another.
