Lufthansa Regional And The E2

Wed Dec 21, 2016 4:57 am

LH Regional has a modest sized fleet of E190/195s. How easy would it be for LH to add the E190/195 E2 to the regional fleet?

Would it be something they'd want?

It's great they may need to choose an E2 or the CSeries (like Swiss) to replace these older jet. Otherwise they may choose CRJX or other professional Regional Jet to replace them. I think that's only a rumour.

At the moment I believe Lufthansa is streamlinig its fleet also they will shift many flights to Eurowings to reduce costs. I can imagine that they will only use A32x as their smallest aircraft. Hoping for a CSeries order though.
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

LH group is a launch customer for the CSeries. The current E-Jets are not up for replacement nor are the remaining CRJs.

As a matter of fact, LH is currently transferring their Embraer Fleet to Austrian Airlines, as all Eurowings CRJs are being transferred to Lufthansa Regional. For the moment there is no need for any E2 within Lufthansa Group.

They are mostly replaced by A32x aircraft. Only 8 left in fleet now

They will be replaced by 3 wetleased SSJ's as from April '17. For me, it is mainly a question if those wetleases really are a sustainable long term solution (as well as the leased E145 and Q400's).

In total 17 E195 will be transferred to OS, the rest will remain at CL
