Just came across these news this morning on Spanish online newspapers abd i just found a source in English

It seems Eurowings is basing two aircrafts from 2017 at Mallorca PMI airport and starting new routes to Friedrichshafen, Graz Linz, Bremen and Munich.
Certaintly a boost now Air Berlin are no threat on routes other than TXL and DUS. The rest is pretty much wetleased to LH.
The odd thing is MUC. That's supossed to be LH mainline territory along with FRA, having EW for the rest.

The Eurowings decision is not entirely new, but now an expanded program, starting earlier in the summer season has been announced. Some new routes were already communicated earlier on, but now have got earlier starting dates ...

It is the entrance and expension of Transavia and easyJet that forced the LH group to introduce a lower cost operation next to LH. 4 A320s, leased from AB, will make 89 rotations per week to 32 destinations, a mix of holiday (CTA, CFU, DBV, etc) and city (AMS, FCO, BSL, GVA) destinations and with quite some LH overlap.
It will be interesting to see how the LH unions will react here. And similarly, it will be interesting to watch if LH will introduce Eurowings at FRA to counter FR.

Yet another LCC establishing a base in PMI; summer 2017 will see Ryanair, Vueling, easyJet, Norwegian and now Eurowings basing aircraft and crews at this leisure hub.
I suspect Eurowings will overtake Air Berlin with ease, AB has lost its relevance and fades from its core markets.
