Isn't the Qatar already listed?

Unidentified Customer 2 x 747-8F (16 Jul) - Qatar

How can we be sure if that's Qatar if the order is unidentified?

Correct. These are the two Transaero NTUs chosen for the USAF VC-X program.

KarelXWB wrote:
Or perhaps Qatar Airways.

The two QR 747-8F were accounted for via a UFO order in the 18 July update (along with perhaps 4 additional 777-300ERs).

cledaybuck wrote:
Would USAF be unidentified?

I do not believe Congress has formally passed an Appropriations Bill authorizing the purchase of the two frames for VC-X and the USAF has said the frames were purchased under a "commercial contract" with the pricing withheld. As such, accounting might require / desire it to be a UFO order until such time as the Bill is passed and the frames are formally allocated to the USAF.

Which is what I said...

KarelXWB was suggesting that the 31 August order could be the two 747-8 freighters that QR have announced they would be ordering earlier this summer. I was noting those frames were in fact ordered on 16 July (and noted in the 18 July O&D Update) and confirming that the 31 August order was the two Transaero NTU frames for the USAF VC-X program as seabosdca stated. (I have edited my post to make this more clear.)

La Compagnie orders 2 A321neo aircraft.

https://www.lacompagnie.com/sites/defau ... 321neo.pdf

Three years after launching as an exclusively business-class boutique airline with trans-Atlantic routes on July 4 2014, and a year since doubling its daily flights between New York and Paris, La Compagnie ("The Company”) is accelerating its development with an order of two Airbus A321neo aircraft.

This investment in the new Airbus aircraft marks a major milestone, revealing the still-young boutique airline’s stable growth, and progressive future development.

Due for delivery in 2019, the thoroughly modern, efficient and eco-friendly A321neos will take La Compagnie’s in-flight business-class experience to new heights with the latest technologies, Wi-Fi service and "full-flat” beds, ensuring passengers are well-connected and well-rested upon arrival in New York or Paris.

It's good to post all LoI's MoU's in this thread, it makes it easier to keep track of these announcements over the year. I would draw the line at articles on airlines that are looking at placing orders, those should not be posted here.

This is not really a discussion thread anyway, if an announcement is large and interesting enough for a discussion a new thread should be opened anyway.

I don't see the issue, most LOIs/MOUs translate into firm order.

The only thing we never know is whether the LOI includes options and purchase rights.

Here's a link to a Chinese article in Chinese, judging from the numbers given in the article it looks like it was part of the MOU.
http://www.caacnews.com.cn/1/6/201709/t ... 29466.html

They already had 36 MAX on order, the article mentions that it's now 44. But there's no actual mention of the Paris MOU.

....and? There was discussion that it could be for anywhere between 10-40 firm, so this just narrows that down a bit. Perhaps that's in the other thread on this order though.

This is the largest firm 737 order so far this year (if its 1 order). I can't match it with any of this years MOUs, it's any ones guess who's behind it.

It doesn't have to be related though. Note that China agreed to buy hundreds of new 737 aircraft after the JV was announced in 2016.

I forgot about the news from last week, the 58 should include the 8 for Ruili Airlines. That leaves 50 for another customer, which could be Lion Air firming up their commitment for 50 737 MAX 10 from the Paris Air Show. I could also be a larger mix of Chinese customers firming up MOUs or even new orders.

The 787 order could be Okay Airways, firming up their MOU from Paris.

Last weeks MAX orders were 2 orders, 1 for 50 and 1 for 8 aircraft.

- JAL order for 4x 788s moved from Unidentified
- Order for 5x additional 789s in Unidentified (no engine)

The conversion of the Avianca order makes them one of the possible customers behind last weeks unidentified order. Ordering 8 789s makes more sense for them then just ordering 3, especially considering the number of A330s in their fleet.

Avianca however has little reason to remain unidentified. Would it be another Chinese carrier? How about Okay Airways, firming up its Paris air show MoU?

It's almost become standard to book orders unidentified just to announce them a couple of months later. Just look at the JAL order, they also didn't have a reason to book it as unidentified first. This argument can not be used as a reason anymore when linking a specific airline to any unidentified orders.

As I mentioned earlier it could indeed also be Okay Airways. We just don't know for now.

New ACJ customer:

Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) has won a new A319neo[1] order, from an Asian customer that is trading up from a traditional business jet, highlighting the market appeal of the aircraft family’s proven cabin and improved intercontinental range.

The order means that new and existing customers have now placed a total of nine orders – three ACJ319neo and six ACJ320neo - for the new ACJ320 family. Customers include Acropolis Aviation, Comlux, K5 Aviation and undisclosed clients.

Great news (particularly for the 748F). I wonder if AZAL gets 788s like they currently have or 789s/10s.

On a related note, I think Boeing clearly saw the beginning of top-up orders coming for the 787s in relation to the production increase now that the aircraft has been flying a few years, many airlines have taken delivery of all or most of their aircraft on order and options are coming up.

There are still close to 700 aircraft in backlog though.

This must be the undisclosed order from last month.

Article is unclear whether it adds to the existing order or is a conversion. Further, it doesn't say the order is for Max 10s, it just says the "price of Max 10s" is....
