Asia Atlantic Airlines

Mon Jan 16, 2017 3:29 am

Hi all,

I just found out about Asia Atlantic Airlines. Does anyone have any info on them? Do they actually operate flights? They just caught my curiosity.

Thanks for your replies.

I actually just saw their plane and some crew last week when I was in Phuket. They were doing a flight from Phuket to a Northern China city. From what I can remember I think they mainly do charter work.

Asia Atlantic is a charter airline headquartered in Bangkok, that operates two 767's. It is a subsidiary of the Japanese travel agency H.I.S. Here is their web address http://www.asiaatlanticairlines.com

Am I the only one who thought Asia Atlantic is a kind of weird name since Asia is on the pacific?...

And the Virgin Islands are in the Caribbean, so Virgin Australia??? I believe the logic is rather that they aim to fly between Asia and the Atlantic (Europe or US east coast). Just like the good old Braathens SAFE, where SAFE stood for South America Far East.

Well in the case of Virgin Australia I believe that it received that name because it was part of Sir. Richard Branson's group of airlines originally. You still have a point with the others though.
