Right, AF decided to start a few number of new routes from secondary French cities in summer 2012 : NCE - ATH / BCN / IST / NAP / TLV / VCE, TLS - BER / BRU / CMN / GVA / HAM /IST / AGP / MLA / RAK / NAP / PRG / SVQ / TUN / VCE / VIE and MRS - BEY / BER / CPH - HAM - IST. All these services did not last long, some of them did not even start (NCE - BCN / IST and TLS - BRU / GVA).

I find it amazing AF don't fly NCE - LHR, letting BA have the monopoly on that route with their multi-daily flights.

Unfortunately I suspect we will see same poor performance of routes as before. Atleast they will only operate seasonally so limit exposure to reduced traffic period.
The AF 'regional base' concept turned out to be disaster due fact of going head to head on such point-to-point routes with LCCs while having structural high cost base of legacy airline.

Yes probably. It was also rumored that Volotea wanted to start BOD - Frankfurt (more likely HHN) this summer but reversed its plan at the last minute surely due to the knowledge of LH and AF intentions.
