Saudia is defintely not a strict airline by any standards other than their Iranian style crew uniforms which are colourful and better than Iran Air for one, and their IFE has a variety of international content catering to all tastes, been there.on a lowly third world route not even something to the west.

Their hard product on new aircraft is as good if not better than many airlines.

In that case you may except even much better things from IranAir.

The second A330 finished paint in CHR and has just landed in TLS to prepare the delivery:

Finally it's delivered.
I don't know if it's been mentioned but it has 32 in business and 206 in economy.

Actually, it looks like the Trump admin hasn't stopped the Boeing orders--at least not yet.

What's the exact seating configuration in Business Cabin? From the available photos, partly showing the cabin, I figure out it's 1-2-1 and with full flatbed seats. So there are 8 rows and with a typical pitch of 61", it's a "fairly long" business cabin...

What a beauty.

I've been watching this on the aerospacetalk.ir Telegram channel for a while now. I'm impressed by how quickly we managed to get our first new widebodies.

Awaiting info on the routes it will fly.

I would imagine it would be within the next few weeks. There are four NTUs from Avianca which IR is taking; if I am correct (and please correct me if I'm not), there are not aircraft including in IR's deal with Airbus; they are additional. The ones ordered directly are A330-300s?

Incidentally, how many more A321s are coming in the short to medium term?

With regard to the Boeing deal, I'm pretty sure Iran will not do a deal with Boeing while the travel ban is in place and (if it's not struck down again), that will be in force until the first week of June. Even then, there will probably be legal complications; there was talk that some pro-Israel groups might injunct Boeing to prevent deliveries to Iran, so I think with that background, the finalisation of the deal is a long way off.

Congratulations to IranAir! I wonder whether Iran has enough number of pilots in the country?
Because they are not wet leased aircrafts, are they? Iran bought so many (I don't remember the numbers) arcrafts from Boeing and Airbus.
Anyway, now there is a new player and it is getting stronger day by day.. Good for Iran!

Has IR commenced using their first A330 on international routes yet? Hopefully LHR will see the A330 on the IKA-LHR-IKA routing when they have enough A330'S in their fleet.

Not soon, the next one will be a new build but there are no 2017 production slots allocated to Iran Air.

Those 2 a332s already delivered to IranAir: were these equipped with cockpit crew rest station and the "underground" cabin crew rest module?

Iran air outlines a330 international flights.
From the 1st May it will fly to Gothenburg
Then it will operate to Stockholm
In addition to the to Swedish destinations the a330 will also operate to Paris Orly.
These routes are valid until October 2017 so changes may occur.

Not yet but may.LHR will not but Iran is meant to be receiving a 77W so Iran might be putting it on the LHR route as soon as possible after the usual training flights.
