Most "Pimped" Narrowbody?

Sun Jan 29, 2017 7:33 pm

What are the most pimped narrowbodies of each type? I would say OpenSkies for the 757 because it has a real Premium Economy cabin, maybe an AA A321T or a Gulf carrier (or TK) A321 for the A320 series, and those all-J 737s for the 737 series.

Honorable mention of Avianca for having PTVs and outlets on all A319, A320, and A321 aircraft.

Only commercial airliners counted.

Any ideas?

The first Boeing Business Jet with a panoramic window will end this competition really quickly. :)

I don't know if you can call it most pimped up but when I flew Copa 737 from SFO to PTY, my plane had brand new Boeing Sky interior with mood lighting, modern touchscreen tablets for IFE at every seat (not the ones that you have to abuse with fat fingers to work), power outlets, USB ports... pretty much all the shenanigans you see in Economy cabin on the widebodies of the best airlines.

Whoa, please. Which one of these new jargon definitions comes closest to your intending meaning for pimped?

Urban Dictionary: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pimped

Kind of makes my gray-haired head spin. Pimping narrow- or wide-bodies should be illegal.

I think in this context the "pimp my ride" definition can be assumed. Looking at that list, I was surprised too, looks like things have changed since I was young...

I guess we're not including Trump's 757?

Obviously the most pimped narrowbodies are business jets. ;)

While no longer around, Transaero's 738s sure were something:

Can that system be adapted to a 747?

Don't know, they are talking only about narrow- and wide-bodies.

I would guess those two ERJ-135s with the 16pax shuttle config (1+1 seating) that Indigo Airlines had for their planned commercial service out of Teterboro must have been special... single seat seating for every passenger on a commercial flight.
learning never stops.

I... wow.

So, what would the legal/regulatory process be for adding that to a commercial aircraft?

ERJs with only 1+1 config is a candidate. Cause sitting alone on a commuter is fine. Specially on one of those Pencil Jets, so darn skinny.
Well uh, I obviously decided to refine this but i dont know how.

What part of "only commercial airliners" do you not get?! :banghead:

Could an Admin please change "Pimped" to "Luxurious" which is more what I mean?

OK, so we have BA A318, OpenSkies 757, and any of the all-J 737s.

Surely Kingfisher's ATR's that came with IFE would have to be in the Top 5.
Do any other airlines offer IFE in turnoprops?

Never been on one, but from what I've seen in pictures, the Etihad A319s, A320s, and A321s look pretty comfy.

...not that I'm biased because I want to work for them or anything, though...
Denver Tower: Gulfstream 592, you’re cleared to 9,000 feet. For a vector to Hector, contact the sector director.

If you want to add a widebody to the hunt, check out this ride: http://www.travelweek.ca/news/worlds-ex ... price-tag/

"Experiential travel boutique DreamMaker has designed a trip around the world aboard a privately outfitted Boeing 767 for its ultra-high net worth clientele. ‘Passport to 50’, which OddityCentral has dubbed the world’s most expensive trip around the world, is styled as a milestone celebration for the billionaire client and up to 50 friends and family flying in tandem on a second Boeing Business Jet.

The price? A modest US$13,875,000."

Quite a few. IFE is pretty common in -600 series ATRs. I know for a certain that Precisionair and MASwings have it as well.
