Re: LATAM Fleet Repaint Updates

Sun Nov 11, 2018 7:35 pm

I recently transited through Sao Paulo airport and was surprised to see that almost all LATAM Brazil aircraft are still in TAM livery.

According to this topic and Planespotter's numbers, only 13% of TAM's fleet has been repainted, more than 6 years after the merger! And according to flightglobal, the initial objective was to finish the rebranding in the end of 2018...

What's happening? Have they given up repainting the aircraft?

Having just been flying out of EZE, SCL, AEP and IGR I was very surprised to see just how few aircraft were in the new livery. Only one plane we flew on withing South America was painted LATAM.

The first B777-300ER in LATAM livery: PT-MUI
I wonder when people will understand:
Embraer 190 or simply E190, not ERJ-190. E-Jets are NOT ERJs!
Boeing 747-8, not Boeing 747-800. Same goes for 787.
Airbus A320, not Airbus 320.
Airbii does not exist.

I had been wondering when the first 77W would be painted. Very slow rollout of the new livery.

PT-MUI is the first 777 in the new livery.

Interestingly, PT-MUI is the frame which was stored in April, and has been speculated about being sold to BA. It seems plans have changed...

What is going on with the two 777-200s CC-BKA and CC-BKB? They’re fairly regular visitors to Miami but they’re all white and never seem to be operating any live flights.

Lease aircraft provided by Boeing to full the gap those B787 left as they need heavy MX due to faulty engines.

It might be a South American thing. Avianca is taking their time with repaints too and they even had an A320 still flying around in the Grupo TACA livery from 1998.

Are they in revenue service yet? All they seem to do in Miami is ferry in, sit for a day or two, and then fly back out as ferries. Any plans to add at least temporary LATAM titles?

PT-MOG is schedule to leave LATAM Brasil fleet to operate on behalf of Latam Argentina. (probably one to be painted into LATAM cs.)
Some speculates about 3 77W flying for LATAM Chile soon, just like the Chilean 767s are operating from GIG/SSA/FOR. (I guess these wouldn't be painted just like the LANs flying for LATAM Brasil).
Another A359 is arriving by the end of november, probably to replace one 77W from GRU to MAD. (A359 and 77W are alternating flights to MAD).
2 A20N are schedule to be delivered to JJ and 2 A21N to LA by the end of 2018.

Latam's painting are happening when the aircraft has a C check or when they migrate between airlines from the group. They don't have enough painting facilties (such as American) and their fleet are operating in quite tight schedule.

Finally! This was the oddball of the fleet...and I noticed it has been flying a mostly domestic schedule (GIG and MAO) in the past few weeks...

Does anyone have an updated list of the repainted fleet?
Flying out of CGH on a weekly basis, it seems they ramped up painting. However, I have no actual basis to check if this is true...

I know there hasn't been much activity on this thread, but does anybody has an updated list of the repaints? I was wondering how much has LATAM advanced on the process.
