No worries, I hope members won't mind me bumping this thread over the next day or two. It's just that I think that the footage available is immense and it would be a shame for avid Aviation enthusiasts to miss out on it,

Maybe this is a stupid question, but did the Concorde carry any cargo whatsoever?

Yes the Concorde carried the passenger's luggage plus high price courier mail if there was room

Concorde also delivered certain high-price luxury items for the wealthy elite in London, Paris, and New York. There was a service by which you could order, say, a duck liver paté from a restaurant in Paris and have it delivered fresh that afternoon via Concorde. Needless to say, it wasn't something the average person did.

I only turn left when boarding aircraft. Well, mostly. All right, sometimes. OH OKAY - rarely.

What was meal service like on the Concorde? Did it have large galleys? How many galleys were there?

Hahaha! Glad to hear, hopefully those earlier film reels are a source of nostalgia for those who are older on here.

Concorde catering was more J than F — on my flight to JFK in October 2003 I had a crab starter, shepherds pie main and a slice of cheesecake. Remember it was only a three hour flight, Minneapolis to LA or London to Athens.

Wow this stock footage is just fantastic. The quality of the filming in color in the 1950s video is just tremendous. The quality of the shot of the KLM DC-4 takeoff (which I think is at Heathrow?) is so unusually good for that early, as is the BOAC Stratocruiser and the excellent bridge shots with the Northwest Strat, which I think is at IDL.

I seriously can't recommend this highly enough, and thanks a billion to the OP for posting!

Nice, shame they can't differentiate an A300/310 from an A330!! ( see the wrongly labelled "A330 stock footage").

This channel is my personal favorite. "Classic Airliners & Vintage Pop Culture" A lot of old airline promos but also a lot of home videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaoAmO ... 2K8cuB6m-w

Wow, that 1955 Constellation video is amazing. It really goes to show how the big issue for quality video back then was mostly transmission-related. Good cameras definitely existed back then, but the TV output people would see was a far cry from what they could record.

There's something fascinating and almost eerie about seeing this in high quality color video.

You put into words, what I couldn't. Eerie is a great way of describing that video. Its so strange because at the same time its so beautiful.
