I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I like it. Just wish it had a small red pinstripe in the upper part of the black underbelly.

They'd have been better doing nothing and keeping the existing livery.

It says "our brand new livery evokes the natural beauty and striking landscapes of our great nation..."

Odd. I never knew Canada to be so dark and depressing. But seriously, the present (now old) livery is much more representative of Canada.

The maple leaf logo under the windows looks odd to me. Just my two cents.

I think it looks quite nice. Very clean, almost a retro look to it.

However, Air Canada's Facebook page has this to say: "Our brand new livery evokes the natural beauty and striking landscapes of our great nation."
Can anyone explain how? It's quite nice, but this statement is taking marketing baloney a little too far...

Very nice. Good job. Looks professional, classy and elegant. It also incorporates several cues of previous AC liveries and (to me, at least) appears a tad more formal than the blueish icicle one. For some reason it immediately reminded me of AC Vickers Vanguards...

I like it. Simple and elegant. The bandit cockpit will be distinctive. I also like th elogo underneath. Nothing overly innovative but a good strong look

Love it. Looks very crisp. Similar design company to DL?

The black tail is back, and just for that it gets the thumbs up from me :D

A bit more color on the back of the fuselage would be nice, though. Also I agree that the maple leaf logo below the windows looks a bit odd.

Man that is underwhelming.

Hardly evokes anything to do with Canada in me.

If anything evokes image of Delta in my mind.

I like it. It reminds me of the classic BA Landor livery.

So this is just an evolution of the livery that they sported in the 90s and early 00s?

I like what they've done with the cockpit windows though.

Wow, absolutely horrendous. This is seriously worth a new livery? How plain can you get? Its literally a white airplane with a black tail and a freakin maple leaf on it. Speechless...

I would have thought the Facebook page would have waited until noon. Still not sure if I buy this.

Why would they post some computer generated image instead of the real thing happening soon.

And BTW that is no gone from the Facebook page.

Oh come on, have you not seen the beautiful black volcanoes and oil fields of Canada? Black is totally the first color that comes to my mind when I think of Canada, not that bluish-green of snow/glaciers that they had earlier...

They took one of he worlds best liveries, and ,ace one of the worlds worst. Got job AC, really showing your brand well. I absolutely love AC, and have only had great experiences with them. I'm proud to call myself Canadian and call them my national carrier, but this, oh boy, this is too much.

In all honesty, it doesn't even reflect their branding, it's so drab and depressing, where as the branding is seemingly uplifting and positive. This is positively brutal. They couldn't possibly have come up with a worse design.

And that rondelle below the window line, not beside the titles, whoever came up with that idea should be forced to publicially apologize to ever Canadian.

I wish the black belly was a little higher up, otherwise it's not bad but I'll miss the toothpaste livery.

I LOVE IT!!! Best of the 1994-2003 classy black elements and the classic roundel from the original livery.. stunning!

The 'bandit' cockpit windows remind me of TCA's DC-8's, very unique!

AC's current (now old) livery is also stylistically very plain. People just like it because of the color. AC has never really been one to push daring design for their liveries.

Like the eyeliner/racoon eyes, it has that retro streamliner look from the 1950s. Not a fan of the dark tail or the font and font color. I get the feeling the reason they went with this scheme was to reduce costs and this was the best compromise.

Bandit cockpits are a rip-off of the A350s. If by "unique" you mean 800+ A350 jets...sure, that's unique.

Underwhelming but hardly an eyesore at least. Meh.
I do like the paint around the cockpit windows and (*ducks for cover*) the logo below the window line. Missed opportunity, overall, though, IMO. :/

It's a vast improvement over the Aquafresh livery, for sure. It's clean, simple, and elegant. I love it.

On the other hand, it really does look like CTRL-X the Widget, CTRL-V the AC maple leaf...

I think this maybe a put on. Why leak a computer generated image? Which is now gone from Facebook. I'm guessing this is a hack or someone mistakenly posed too early.

Wouldn't they show the real thing?

It's actually done in a very similar style to TCA's ( pre Air Canada ) DC-8's with the pointed end, quite different than the A350's 'racoon' but could be inspired obviously by that.

I doubt AC has any air-to-air or any other PR friendly (good lighting, nice background, etc) photos of the actual plane yet.

Not too bad, looks a lot like their old livery. I don't see a need for the raccoon eyes (only the A350 pulls it off). But fundamentally it has a maple leaf on it, so it's Canadian!

Just sooooooo freaking plain! Look at the tail, I just can't get over how basic that is. Is this really an upgrade worth all the money that will be spent on it?

Much prefer it to the toothpaste livery I see regularly on approach to LHR - glad it will soon be on its way out. Like others have commented would like to have seen the maple leaf at the front of the fuselage level with and in front of the Air Canada titles. Good improvement in my view.
