Given how dynamic pilot staffing is in the regional airline industry right now, I doubt many of those Air Wisconsin pilots will be there in a matter of months, let alone years, anyway. Pilots are moving around - and moving up - all over the place. AA seems to found a viable means to create a talent pipeline with the flow-through systems at its three wholly-owned carriers (Envoy, Piedmont and PSA).

Having said all that - from the cabin comfort, product and passenger experience standpoint, I, too, am thrilled to see these CRJ200s exiting the AA network.

839 was showing as retired on the fleet site when it went off for repaint so I would assume thats where they saw it.

That’s been my understanding as well, that the last 738 delivered in legacy livery, N921NN / 3KG, was going to remain in legacy livery as a heritage/retro bird, but I haven’t seen anything official from the company yet.

The CRJ-700s are going to PSA at a rate of 1 per month, and that has been the case since April, long before the removal of Air Wisconsin was announced.

Just like the E145s are going to Piedmont at a rate of 2 per month. It's not a matter of workforce, it's a matter of allocation.

The removal of Air Wisconsin from the system has given Envoy and other regionals to expand further. The continuing delivery of E175s, along with the placement of reactivated E140s and current E145s in the northeast, both with Envoy and Piedmont, compensate for Air Whiskey.

Recruiting can be easy, take a look at our friends in St. George. SkyWest has been bursting at the seams with new pilots. Envoy and Endeavor have also had little trouble picking up recruits, especially compared to companies like Horizon, Mesa, and Compass. If a regional shows that they have a sturdy future, good pay and benefits, and maybe a path for career advancement, hiring becomes much less difficult.

It’s not just age, other factors such as hours and cycles need to be taken into account, as well as when leases are up for renewal, impending D-checks etc.

I believe someone mentioned in this thread earlier that 10 or so newer-build 757s have been sold for freight conversion.

There is still a flight JFK-CLT-JFK 1x daily on the 757, but I don't know how much longer that one will last.

I was looking at a google map of ROW, and it amazed me how many silver birds were parked out there. You could start an entire airline with how many grounded AA planes are out there, baking away. Sad sight.

I show N945AN, N958AN, N979AN, N864NN and N921NN (Heritage livery?) yet to be painted, one of which should ferry tonight. N945AN arrives at ORD this evening and should ferry to GUS to swap out with N905AN. I must have missed N856NN getting painted, so yes you’re correct, 5 remaining, thanks!
