Eventually they're all going to go away. Whether they keep 17x however many, they won't keep them, especially with the prospects of the 797 on the horizon.
The 797 is a decade away at least.
I'm betting AA swaps their A359 orders for either A338neos or A332 ceos to replace those remaining 763's
I'm more inclined to believe they will get 788s or 789s to replace them, and convert the A359s to A321s for boosting capacity on routes like JFK-SEA, ORD-SEA, JFK-PHX, IAD-LAX, etc..
