Some more informations about the new LH uniforms:

One broad stripe on the sleeve means: Cabin Attendant

One broad and one narrow stripe on the sleeve means: Purser 1

One board and two narrow stripes means: Purser 2, who is the chef of the cabin on longhault flights

I generally like those, except for the double-breasted male FA uniform, but they have a choice between single or double-breasted, so that's allright. We'll just have to see which ones choose wisely! (I'll check it out in 2 weeks, as I'll be flying LH then!).
Otherwise, nice uniforms, cool hats.

The uniforms are nice. I also like the hats. I think a women looks chich in a hat. It should be with the skirt, not the pants. The male unfiorms are kind of drab. Nothing special or colorful about them.

Notice something?
I took these pictures the same day they did the ones with the new uniform. Of course, I wasn't allowed to take pictures of the new uniform itself at that time.
It was great to see the 744 and JU52 together.

WOW!!  Wow! Finally I have found a uniform of today that i love, the hats are very beautiful too. My favorite variation is the one featured on the far right, the lady carrying the tote bag in the blue dress, yellow scalf and that lovely hat. Well done Lufthansa AG, seriously this time Big grin.

Yes, and the best part is: It was done by one of the most famous German fashion designers: Gabriele Strehle. So, in all, it is a german product (though I somehow disagree with most of you about the hat, but ok).
btw Racko: You scanned the pics from the LH magazine, could you possibly scan and post the one pic where they present all LH uniforms since the thirties??
Now that was cool!!! especially the F/A with the yellow seventies uniform, guys like Braniff will just love it!!!

Jaysit: Are you afraid of LH or German females or why do you find it scary?

Andreas

These are the same uniforms that are going to be worn by the Thomas Cook crews (Pilots and Flight-attendants)

It looks good, only a lot of 'gold' for the pilots, might have been a little less.

Everybody at Thomas cook already had their seizes taken and should receive it within 2 weeks now.

Who is Gabrielle Strehle???  Smile

Actually I don´t like those hats at all, but it seems that´s just a matter of taste.
And the skirts of the female f/a s could be somekind shorter, don´t you think?  Smile

Stratofish: Fashion Is Not Your Cup Of Tea...

Thu Feb 14, 2002 12:27 am

... I suppose?
Gabriele Strehle is chief designer and co-owner of the fashion house Strenesse. I believe you know that one!
If not:

Last year, two of the most prestigious fashion houses in the world (Prada and Gucci) were engaged in a fierce battle to take over Strenesse as a brand name and Mrs. Strehle as chief designer. Both failed, because Strehle and her husband did not sell, even though the purchase price was around 60 (!!!) times EBITDA 2001e in the end, which is very high, even under fashion standards. Obviously both are rich enough to stay independent.

Mrs. Strehle is currently considered to be one of the five "hottest" fashion designers worldwide.
Does that answer your question?

btw: I agree with you, as concerns the hat! *ggg*

Andreas

Those Nehru/Russian hats are a fashion disaster !! They make the crew look like Soviet-era guards hand picked by Honnecker out of a '70s James Bond flick.

I rather like these new LH uniforms very much. To me, they have a quasi late 1960's/early 1970's retro look about them (especially with the beautiful hats - nice touch). Very stylish, very becoming. Quite classy.

Hmmm, if only Air Canada cabin crews could ditch those horrid green uniforms.

Racko And Jaysit:

Thu Feb 14, 2002 7:16 am

Racko: YYYEEESSS, thanx for the great pic,I love that yellow one second to right, and I can tell you, that skirt is much shorter than it looks in the pic *ggg*. Bring that one back and LH will have a drooling loadfactor of 120%
Jaysit: I fully agree, quite obviously Mrs. Strehle threw herself a very bad LSD trip, when she did the hat.

Regards y'all

The skirts are too long and the blue is too dark, looks like they deal with funerals. And before they change the uniforms they should take care of the livery, LH planes are sooooooo pale.
