What does "MoM" mean?

Sun Apr 02, 2017 3:25 am

I often see the term "mom" used but I really have no idea what it actually means. Can someone help me out please?

Middle Of (the) Market aircraft

Basically something to bridge the gap between the larger narrowbodies (739/A321) and the smaller widebodies (787/A330)
I myself, suspect a more prosaic motive... ~Thranduil

Part of the problem is there is no definition. MOM fills the alleged space on the passengers/range graph between the existing narrow bodies and the 787/330neo. Unfortunately it is a comparatively large space which defines any number of solutions. In the current discussions Boeing and the airlines are seeing if any particular solution has enough market to warrant building.

Depends on what context you're seeing it used in. I would say more commonly (esp in financials) it's Month-Over-Month (i.e. how much growth between months).
